  • Re: CRUISIN 8/18/08 FANTASY OUT OF NEW ORLEANS!!!!!!!!

If you have enjoyed the Holiday you will love the Fantasy! I am one of those that likes to explore every nook and cranny of the ship. The Fantasy is larger so there is more to explore. On the Holiday, or 1st cruise in '06, we were on the Riviera deck and loved being so close to the waves. We booked the Empress deck on the Fantasy due to a 2 ...

Hey all, we have 7 weeks to endure until we cruise the Caribbean. That means there are 3 weeks of shopping for the cruise,  2 weeks of making sure you have everything you probably won't need and 2 weeks of trying to pack all of the items that you don't need into 1 carry-on, 1 garment bag and 2 pieces of roll-about luggage. This is ...

  • Re: What do you need to go on a western caribbean cruise?

Just an observation. What go would it be to leave your passport in the safe in a foreign country? You may as well leave it at home. It is not like you can run back to the ship and get it if you need it when you get into a predicament with the authorities. True, 99% chance you will not need it but it is a foreign country and you are a guest that ...

  • ROLL CALL October 1, 2007

In process of planning my DW and my 2nd cruise. Just wondering if anyone on the board is planning the Oct 1 cruise? We cruised the Holiday last July and decided to forego a PEAK season cruise have never been to NOLA. Any suggestions for excursions out of Costa Maya would be appreciated. When we where in Cozumel last year we did not do and ...

  • Re: First cruise

If I am not mistaken this is a bunk stateroom with portholes. You can also expect alot of rocking and rolling being you are in the front of the ship and the anchors are about 30' forward. If possible and you can afford it try to get an upgrade more to the middle of the ship for a smoother cruise. As for the hairdryer it will work just fine as ...

  • Re: I just booked my first cruise ever and I'm a little confused...

July 3rd will be our first cruise but I have been studying the boards intently. CruiseCritic.com is one of my favorites but there many more out there. Just Google ''cruises'' and explore. The garage is owned by the City of Mobile Port Authority and yes it is next to the dock. As for the S&S typically you will supply a credit card that will ...

  • Re: Just back from the Holiday!!!

Thanks for the review; my DW and I are leaving on July 3rd. This is our first of hopefully many cruises to come. Overall it sounds as though you had a great experience. We are in an outside stateroom on the Riviera deck about midship; did you hear from anyone about any vibrations? Several of the boards have had mention of vibrations ...

  • Hotel in Mobile

After reading the past several post we decided to setup reservations for the night before. I guess since it is the weekend of the 4th that the hotels are filling up early. We decided to book at the La Quinta off of 65 and Airport. What time is best to arrive at the dock? We would like to board as early as possible to explore yet do not wish to be ...
