  • Re: Just back from Destiny

We did the ultimate snorkel.  We were right next to the catamaran which was more money, I guess for the atmosphere of a catamaran? But the guys we had were very nice and entertaining and if you end up in the same location why pay more for the ride? Yes we saw awesome tropical fish and coral. Two stops, one deep and one shallow. They even ...

  • Hats and Sunscreen

The only advice I can think of for first time cruisers is to definately bring a hat, one that you don't care about, as in getting it wet. And bring plenty of sunscreen and I don't mean SPF 8 like my daughter!  I had the 30 and 45 with me and after the first day she was begging me for it! You are in a tropical climate and the sun is ...

  • Wedding on the Destiny

One more thing to add to my last post.....we got married on the ship as well! Everything went smoothly and it was a very nice ceremony. The wedding coordinator, Ana, that met us in the terminal was the nicest person. She totally calmed my nerves.  We were the third wedding and were delayed, that was the only flaw, but that was beyond their ...

  • Just back from Destiny

We just returned yesterday and had a blast! The rooms were great, my kids were on the first deck and their rooms were HUGE. We had a balcony on the eighth deck and while not as big as theirs it was great.  Everything was clean and not shabby in the least.  The food was wonderful.  My daughters boyfriend is a bit of a foody so I was ...

  • Re: Roll Call for Destiny 6/29

I didn't know I had a choice other than to go through Carnival's wedding department, and they pick the location for you.  I spoke to them today about the location and they assured me that it is decorated in a wedding theme, white columns, silk flowers and the white runner.  I'm fine with it really, they will take pictures all ...

  • What night is formal night, anyone have a clue?

I am just wondering if they always do formal night on the same night on any particular cruise. We on on the Destiny leaving 6/29 and have a late afternoon excursion booked the day we are on the Half Moon Cay which will leave us little time to get back to the ship and get ready for dinner at 6pm. I hate to think it's formal night and then will ...

i'm starting to have mixed feelings about the horseback riding. Guess I didn't read the part about "no saddle" for the water swim! That's a bit scary since I have only been on a horse once in my life.  We are seriously thinking about cancelling. also because we got the 4pm slot and will have little time to get back to ...

  • Re: Wedding on board question...

There are only six of us total, my fiance and myself and our children.  I'm just concerned about my children (all adults mind you) having to be all dressed up waiting around for all that time.  She told me repeatedly that only the bride and groom would have access to "a room" to get dressed. My hair and makeup are to be ...
