  • Re: Sea Trek Helmet Diving in Cabo

Hello, I was just in Cabo San Lucas on a different cruise and did something very similar to the Sea Trek helmets. Instead of walking on the bottom with a helmet we had a underwater scooter with a helmet just like the Sea Trek helmet. My eyesight is pretty poor and I used my eyeglasses within the helmet. There's plenty of room to wear the ...

  • Re: Splender 2-7-10 Anyone else going on this ship?

I'll be on this cruise with my family, unfortunately no kids. But, I was on the Splendor this past May and I've seen the facilities for children and they are quite nice and Carnival does a good job of dividing up the age groups so that the children in the groups are free to be themselves. The ship itself is quite nice, the decor ...

  • Re: Spa balcony cabin - safe question...

I can confirm 1109 is there, I've stayed in 1115 two doors down. Three-inches of water in one of these cabins seems to be a huge over-statement.

  • Re: The extra spa cost?

Limiting a SPA cabin's passes to the first two adults is not unfair or wrong. I've traveled in a Spa cabin on the Splendor and know that they sleep 4 so one could argue that all occupants should be entitled to passes to the Spa. I'm booked again on the Splendor and chose instead to book a category 11 stateroom and I've got family ...

  • Re: PokerPro on Splendo

I was on the Splendor in May and the poker table was crowded during the usual times that people would normally be in the casino (afternoons and evenings). Truthfully, the only time I ever saw the table not crowded when there was no one there and you can't play without one other person. I inquired about the poker tournament that is advertised ...

  • Re: Water on the Splendor

I think it depends on the water you're used to drinking. I live in Las Vegas and the tap water here is awful, so I drink bottled water. However, I found the water (tap water) on the Splendor to taste just fine especially when it was cold (iced). Drinking water on most cruise ships is produced by using reverse osmosis filters and then ...

  • Re: Largest cabin next to a suite

I was on the Splendor this past May and a member in my party had a 9A cabin and found them to be smaller and more poorly laid out than a category 8 cabin. I was in a 8S and this cabin slept 4, but the 9A would only hold 2. The 9A's have bigger balconies, but you can't sleep too well on a balcony.

  • Re: Do you get "thalassotherapy etc. benefits" anytime you have a treatment?

If you're in a "Spa Cabin" there is no charge. If you're not in one of these cabins then the charge is $149 for the week or $30 per day.

  • Re: Spa Staterooms ?

calscotsgran, I had a "Spa Stateroom" on the Carnival Splendor. The room was located on the Spa deck (11) just the second room from the doorway leading out to the pool and waterslide (cabin 1115). I have to say this room has got to be one of the quietest staterooms on the ship. Never heard the kids or water running from the ...

  • Re: PASSPORT FOR CHILDREN ???

Francis, If you are on a "Closed-Loop" cruise that departs either from San Diego or Long Beach you do not need a passport for yourself or your children. A "Closed-Loop" cruise is a cruise that departs from a US port and travels to places like Mexico, Canada or the Caribbean and returns to the same port that the ship ...
