I am sorry if I offend people with my posts.  I put it in all places I feel pertained to my vacation so that many people would see it.  I did not realize that it was a forum taboo.   I also did not know about this forum until yesterday, so, sorry if I am new.  When you have never cuised before, and it looks as though many of ...

Thank you so much for those of you who are understanding and offering advise rather than some who are basically telling that this whole thing is my fault for doing the right thing and canceling my cruise.   I did start actually 4 identical threads because I want as many people to see this as possible--no other reason than ...

I have spoken with vacationstogo and with carnival---I went through vacationstogo first and was put on hold while she dealt with carnival and then was advised to contact carnival myself after she was told there would be no further refund.

It is apparently not as simple as just "filing a claim with the insurance". When I purchaed the ins. , I was told that if I had to cancel due to illness or emergency, that I would be refunded 100%.  I have since been told that I have to have a letter from my doctor stating that I am "unfit to travel".  Since I am ...

oniips. I agree you had a reasonable reason to cancel your cruise; your doctor advising you to do such because of your "upper respiratory infection".  But that is what your insurance for.  I don't understand why filling a claim is such a bad option, in your opinion. I never said that this was not an ...

Vacationstogo is your "travel agent" and you have to work this out with them.  Carnival cannot even look at your reservation without their permission. I did speak with them and I have spoken with Carnival.  vacationstogo said that they agree with me, but that Carnival is who would be refunding my money and they are not going ...

Try to look at the whole situation as if the flu situation wasn't happening.  You haven't been feeling well and right before it's time to go, your husband gets sick.  You did the right thing and made the right decision for your family. We were going to go--sick or not--before the swine flu ...

  • FEELING RIPPED OFF

My husband and I booked a cruise--the first trip without our children in 5 years. I got sick over 2 weeks ago with a nasty, lingering upper respiratory infection/virus that I STILL am not completely over.  Knowing that our cruise was fast approaching (May 7th), and having been told by my doctor that he did not advise traveling to Mexico ...
