  • Re: CHICHEN ITZA

I just finished watching "Apocalypto". For some reason I thought it was filmed at Chichen Itza?  It was not, but it looks like the pyramid and structures were imitated.  The movie did take me back there and was very erie.

Hey SUKU, Whew work is crazy - flood, wind, hail, pestilance (LOL) but finally a break to celebrate Penelope's 19th birthday!  I have been pushing the food into her this week as she gets her wisdom teeth out next week and I always worry about her nutrition.  Soon she will be gone back to college and the "big" city and ...

Be prepared to bombarded by many, many vendors, all selling the same things. Even on the bus you will get a sales pitch and an unnecessary stop at a store (on an already tight schedule) My advice is to keep moving - LOL

SUKU,  Penelope and I are more of Johnny Depp girls (just saw Public Enemies)- really am hoping he does that remake of "Dark Shadows".  Anyways we enjoy the same type of movies - anything dark, depressing or a little off kilter (No --movies don't make dance - Ha Ha)

Becki, Yes, you will need snacks for children on this tour.  I believe there were places to get food at the ruins, but you are on somewhat of a tight schedule (especially if you decide to wander around on your own for a few minutes) and we thought we would be getting a lunch on the bus.  The lunch was more of a snack ...

SUKU, You are so right!  The stormy weather here is very hard on a humble insurance adjuster. The highest claims here in our history.   I hate that I can never just relax and enjoy a rainy night or an electric sky..... Maybe I could on a cruise - in the middle of an ocean......  Hope you are caught up!

Linda, That is correct - and now I can't believe that I waited so long!!! I just never thought I would enjoy a cruise (I am somewhat shy (until you add tequilla), I get motion sickness (got a prescription patch from dr and was good, even on the Twister boat ride and too many margariettas), and really enjoy camping, hiking, etc. However I ...

Linda, On  my first cruise and I had no idea what was going on when I got the "VIP" treatment.  I was feeling a little overwhelmed when I first saw the huge lines and then got our VIP entry and was escorted into a room where two ladies chit chatted with me about where I was from, etc. and checked our passports ...
