  • Re: I thought this was supposed to be paradise?!?!

I have another question....  I recently cruised with my 4 young children.  Because you must have an "adult"  (and I believe the adult had to be over 25 years old) in each cabin, how were you able to book 3 cabins?  I am assuming it was 2 parents and 5 children?  My husband and I had to book only 2 cabins and ...

  • Re: Communtions between people

I was just on a cruise with my husband and four children (15, 13, 10 and 7).  First, accept that you WILL GET SEPARATED.  My kids went to Camp Carnival and loved it!  The 13 y/o met friends and then "hung out" with them--participated in some of the Camp Carnival activities as well as did some of their own fun.  My ...

  • Re: Anyone Just Back From Canada/New England?

I see another person responded they were on a cruise after me and was chilly...  I think we may have "lucked out" because we were experiencing very warm weather locally.  However, since we got home the weather was a bit more chilly.  I guess to play it safe, make sure you have a sweater.... I have been on 15 ...

  • Re: Anyone Just Back From Canada/New England?

I was on a 4 day (6/10 - 6/14/08) to Canada (NY to St.  John NB).  The weather was warm, but windy.  Shorts were definitely needed.  When we arrived in St. John, it was chilly, but not cold.  No long sleeves needed, nothing like that.  Evenings on deck were cool.  The cruise itself was great!  I ...

  • Re: VERY DISAPPOINTED !

Bummer...  I was just on Victory before you...  my family was on June 10 - 14. Everything was great!  I admit, NY embarkation does leave something to be desired.  It is a slow process, and when we finally got to the Carnival person to register she was very inexperienced, and took her a long time to get us our boarding ...

  • Re: Friends of Bill W

We are cruising June 10 (friends of Bill W. for many years....).  I know that the Capers usually list where friends of Bill W. are getting together various days and times.  Although, not sure how long you have been a friend, but I don't think they meet daily (at least our experience has not been them meeting daily on a 7 day ...

  • Re: Hotel near the NYC Port

We leave on June 10 on Victory.  We are staying at a Marriott in NJ that offers a boat shuttle ($7 round trip per person) to the port.  Unfortuntely, Marriott's are a little pricey, but the cost of parking in NYC is greater....  I am getting a major discount rate because of family member who works at a Marriott.  My ...

  • Re: Getting to know the staff

When you eat in your assigned table at the dining room, you will/should have the same waiter.  Don't sweat about the roomstewart, he/she will find you!  I have always been aproached pretty near the first minute I walked near my cabin!!  They are kind and friendly.  Introduced self etc.  You will be amazed at how simple ...

  • Re: Tender?

There are some ports that have docks that cannot accomodate some ships.  When this is the case, the ship will drop anchor out a bit from the shore.  Then smaller boats ("Tender" boats) will transport the passenger to and from ship to shore...  Generally, the tender service runs continually through ...
