Usually boarding starts around noon.  I usually get there early and hang out at Seaport Village and do some shopping until they allow us to check in.  I want to get onboard asap so I can get some food and funship special drink of the days.  Yummy.

  • Re: Carnival Elation have it recieved the upgrades?

No naked people.  Just means no kids allowed.  It is too visible from top aft deck by the basketball court and the lido deck buffet to have naked people.

No.  It received a partial upgrade of serenity adult area in the back behind the lido buffet but not the waterpark stuff.

  • Re: Elation leaving San Diego going to Moble

This is my point.  Those on the east coast have a whole bunch of options.  Those that aren't close to a port have to fly no matter what.  Us on the west coast really don't have any options.  11 Carnival ships sail out of Florida alone.  4 from Miami.  Why can't we have options for summer cruises for ...

  • Re: Elation leaving San Diego going to Moble

Okay so first we lose the Pride and now the Elation.  This isn't a happy day for me.   Absolutely zero Carnival ships sailing from San Diego between May and September.  This makes no sense to me.  I hate the Long Beach or Los Angeles port.  You have to wait outside in the elements prior to boarding so you have to get ...

  • Re: hotels?

Hotel Circle is about a 15 minute drive depending on traffic.  I've stayed at Best Western Seven Seas on hotel circle south & it has a park & sail package if you call the hotel directly.  Hotels in downtown San Diego or Harbor area are the closest.  Such as Holiday Inn Bayside, Comfort Inn at the Harbor, Best ...

  • Re: what time are u off elation?

They start loading the next sailing by noon usually so you won't have any problems.  You will probably be off the ship no later than 9:30. By 10 they are usually kicking people off that like to hang out on the ship until the last minute.

  • Re: Anyone book their cruise through AAA?

I haven't booked with AAA but if it early saver, I will only book direct with Carnival.  I've booked online one cruise and very easy.  1've booked thru a local TA a few times (not early saver).  Last cruise I booked was on Carnivals 800 number.  I was driving on the highway and I knew what I wanted so called them on ...
