On our last cruise in March, we actually saw people saving chairs with silverware packs from the dining area near the pools. They stayed there for hours.  Also we saw t-shirts with the words TAKEN in large letters stretched over the chair backs.

I think their policies are very confusing. I was able to get a price reduction of $560 back in Nov with a one day deal( we booked in Sept 08 for 3/15/09). Since then I have paid in full. I just noticed a $20 refund on my credit card in Feb, have no idea what that was for, I haven't talked to them again since Nov.

I have read that you may need a letter for a child when only one parent is cruising at ports. Has anyone ever been asked for it?  Also, does it have to be notorized?

They only have your bag for a few seconds, they throw it on a large cart. That's it, then if you're lucky it shows up at your room  Be sure your luggage tags are secure, one of mine fell off and I had to search for it at the information desk out of about fifty that looked just like it.
