  • Re: What not to do in Roatan

I have been scared out of getting off of the boat in Roatan. I went the US govt's travel website, and there was a lot of bad stuff listed to watch out for. Hepatitis, Dengue Fever, and they recomended getting vaccines before going  :(   I figured I would just take a spa day on the boat that day. Was it really as bad as that? ...

  • Re: Weather for January

Mexico should be nice in Jan. Always bring a sweater or jacket though for the boat, some areas might be chilly, especially if you chill easily or plan to be outside at night as the wind whips up and without the sun to warm you it gets pretty cool.

Has anyone heard if this crazy tropical storm is going to affect our itinerary? I have some great shore excursions booked and would sure be disapointed if I had to change them. I cant believe this storm though, the reason I book in December is to avoid traveling in bad weather! They said there is a 2% chance of having tropical storms in December, ...

There should be 2 formal nights one being like semi-formal which that outfit sounds ok for, but the "Formal" night he will have to wear a dress shirt- tucked in with a tie, this is how it was on the last 7 day cruise I went on I am assuming it will be the same this time, and actually I think that for that, if he is not dressed ...

  • Re: cellular on board?

So can you fill me in a little on this? There is a cell tower on the ship? How does that work? Sorry I have never heard of this and I have been on two cruises and never been able to get a signal.  Any elaboration would be kindly appreciated. :) Doris

I am not quite sure yet, my guess is that they are not sure what will be available. It is always possible to book things on the ship-- if this ship is anything like the Pride you can book it on the tv from your cabin.

  • Re: a first timer type of questions.. please help

This is a belated post but to anyone that reads this thread and is unaware of the payment procedures, if you give them a credit card # they will put a certain amount on hold- this means that if you try to use the credit card elsewhere- in ports. etc you may not be able to since the funds will be held. So take more than one and have a blast!

The ports have changed. It was supposed to be Costa Maya and Nassau, but since the Costa Maya port was damaged from a hurricane they had to change it. So now it will be Cozumel, Belize, Isla Roatan (Honduras) and Freeport. I was looking forward to Nassau as I have been to the Bahamas before and I enjoyed Nassau much better than Freeport, but ...
