    My cruise from Mobile

My wife and I have been on several cruises on more upscale and larger vessels over the past years. Consequently, we didn't think we would enjoy the Holiday even though we live in Mobile and it would be very convenient.

We finally decided to book the 4 day cruise leaving Mobile on Jan. 24th. just to get away for a few days. Our expections were not very high but we were pleasantly surprised. The crew was nice and courteous and very attentive to our  requests and wishes. The food was good and the entertainment was adequate even though one show had to be cancelled due to sickness. The facilities were more than we expected .We met some very nice people with whom we will stay in contact with after the cruise.

This was the cruise in which about 150 people including the crew members came down with a virus. I listened to the news reports relative to the spreading of the virus and I basically disagree with the  reports. I found the ship to be clean and the staff was continually cleaning both the staterooms and the public areas. If someone brings the virus aboard, I don't know how the cruise line could have prevented it. It is the responsibility of the guests in my opinion. We did take normal common sense precautions such as using a hand sanitizer frequently.

We were impressed enough that we plan to book another cruise late summer with my and my brothers family for our annual family reunion. We normally rent a house at Gulf Shores, but this is about the same amount of money and no one has to cook or clean or do all the chores.
