    Not worth the money

Ship: Carnival Freedom | Sail Date: 06/06/07 | Destination: Europe

My husband and I chose to take this cruise for the sole purpose of having time with each other. We really did not care which ports we visited. Our trip turned out to be the opposite. We loved all the ports, except for Naples. We thought Naples was very dirty. The excursion to Sorrento was great in very way. On the other hand, our experience on the ship was not so great. On our first night we went to the piano bar and were totally ignored. The pianist had a packet from which you could request songs. Well each time I requested a song it was as if I was invisible. And, we had to flag the waitress down to get drinks. The following night we went to the open lobby area to listen to a wonderful couple sing and play the key board. They were very talented. Dancing would have been great if a group of young adults had not been yelling above the music. And, again, we could not get a waiter to serve us. We had to go to the bar to get our own drinks. It would not have been bad had the waiter/waitress not been walking around. This seemed to be the mood of the entire cruise. I felt like I was having to beg to get service. On the other hand, our dining room staff and cabin guy were terrific. Now, to top it off. I am being charged double for gratuities. I prepaid my gratuities 90 days before we sailed. Carnivel charged me for gratuities agian on the ship. It gets even better. I used the internet to pull up a copy of my paid receipt and a copy of my charge account to prove that I prepaid them. They would not give me credit. Now that I am at home they are saying that they gave me credit on the ship. I have provided them with proof of payment, however, they can not provide me with proof of credit.
