Ship: Carnival Liberty | Sail Date: 09/20/08 | Destination: > Eastern Caribbean

We just arrived home early this morning from week-long Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Carnival Liberty. My wife, two kids (12 & 13) and I had a wonderful time and I thought I'd write a short review while things are still fresh in my mind. The Liberty is a new ship that entered Carnival's fleet in 2005. The facilities are modern and in excellent shape and the ship was kept very clean and tidy throughout our voyage. The staff and crew were attentive and fun. Steve Knisely, the Cruise Director, had lots of energy and was always upbeat. His twice-daily live television shows broadcast on both the on-board television system and the pool-side jumbotron TV were always fun to watch thanks to his great sense of humor. His staff - especially Amanda, James, and Carlos - were equally upbeat and super-friendly. (Thanks, Amanda, for remembering Emily's 24.5K piece of ship-on-a-stick!). Steve and his crew really made this a great cruise. In the dining room, Valentine, Josico, and Mila were always incredibly attentive and friendly! I don't recall seeing anyone of these great members of the Liberty's staff with anything but a smile on their faces and a sincere willingness to chat about our day on shore or at sea. Gabriella in the on-board Fun Shop was also wonderful. I enjoyed not only her help while shopping, but speaking with her about her home in Europe. Of course, our stay would not have been nearly as enjoyable if it wasn't for Samidi, our room steward. Thank you all for careful attention and great work! This was out fourth cruise and Carnival and I'm already looking ahead to plan cruise No. 5! DannyS (Ithaca, NY)
