Carnival Victory 5/18/2008

I love Carnival!  I've been on other 'upper class' ships and I prefer Carnival over them any day.  I can afford any cruise I want with any line I want to cruise with but Carnival is my line of choice.  I like the laid back, relaxing atmosphere.  Never mind that hurry up, dress up, be snobby atmosphere.  It's supposed to be a vacation not work.

I found the staff and people in general to be more friendly, laid back and fun than on the other ships I was on.

We cruise every year and I'm working on booking cruise #3 and possibly #4 with Carnival.  As long as Carnival does the ports I want to do I'll be there.

I could never imagine doing ANY cruise with ANY line with just a couple of people, would get boring!!!.  We do anywhere from 8 to 30 people a cruise and there is never a dull moment, only a lot of fun and laughs.

Nana is the best in the dining room.  Yoke is the best drink server and Xavier was an awesome room guy!

**Carnival Victory and Destiny both get my votes.  I'll have to tell ya about the Legend and Splendor after we sail.

1 problem with cruise.

A group of 10 of us take the western  cruise on 04-06-2008.  We did have a good time, although my husband and I took this same cruise, same ship and all less than 2 years ago.  The first time on the victory I was much more impressed.

The problem we had was seeing so many teens running around this ship all hours of the night and being so clear that they were drinking.  I sent a comment to Carnival right after our return and ask why there was not a better system to prevent this.  Why didn't ship security stop these teens and escort them back to their parents.  We cruised this time with 4 of our 15 grandchildren, ranging from 8-18.  This was their first time on a cruise and I thank God everyday that my grandchildren has more respect for themself and others not to behave that way.

I will have to say, Carnival answered my complaint promptly and assured me in the future that the Sign & Sail cards will be tagged for those under 21 not to be served any such drinks.  I am not saying that the Carnival crew did sell drinks to minors, I rather think it was the teens parents giving it to them.

We have always sailed with Carnival and will continue to do so.  I am glad I found this forum, it will allow me to research the ships from the cruisers that have taken the cruise not from Carnival.  This really is a positive review, there are times when Carnival can't control everything that happens.

Cruise Experience

Our first time cruising family of 16 had a great time despite some bad weather.I would recommend it.The service was great.Food was average. My only complaint is to advise customers of weather in ports in advance especially when traveling with kids so we know what to wear. Also should have access to weather network in cabins on tv. Keep up the Good Work.
