Moon [mo] Prepaid but not going

Our cruise was booked under "Early Saver" and we prepaid gratuities.  Our 21 year old son is now not going to be with us.  I understand that we have paid for him and the penalty is pretty much "too bad" as far as his ticket cost.  Now, my question is this.  Would Carnival be gracious enough to let us get an onboard credit or similar compensation for his $50 prepaid gratuity?  How would I go about getting this done?

I would suggest contacting Carnival or your travel agent to see what arrangements can be worked out. The earlier the better is usually the best bet. Good luck on this. Happy Sailing. Sorry your son can not join you.

Thank you.  For other people to know, this can be reversed.  For example, I actually have until the 30th of November since this sailing is on December 7th to get reimbursed on my credit card for the prepaid gratuities.  This means a lot.  Geeked

I'm not sure how far out you are but you can cancel before the final payment date and still get credit for part of the deposit.  This is what was on Carnival's website under the FAQ for early saver.  Hope it helps.

    • What if I need to make changes to my ship or sailing date?
Ship and sailing date changes are allowed prior to the final payment due date, subject to a $50 service fee per person, per change.  Changes made after the final payment due date are subject to standard cancellation penalties.
