I'm wondering if its too early to reserve a spot on the shuttle that takes you to port if my cruise is not until Feb.  Has anyone gone through this?  Is it a madhouse? 

I just called yesterday for our cruise in January. The first shuttle is at 11 AM & I only got a noon reservation time. I'd call now and try it only takes a minute for the call. The pier is really close so we will probably get a taxi since I don't want to wait until noon to board.

It is complete and total mayhem...take a cab, it is not that expensive.  I think when we drove from the hotel to the cruise port it took less than 7 minutes.

  I booked the Carnival Dream and made my Radisson reservation in May for the cruise of 12-12-2009 but never called for the shuttle. After reading this message thought I had better make that call NOW.

  This morning I was told the 1st shuttle opening is now at 12:30pm, everything before that is booked. DO NOT WAIT TO PUT YOUR NAME ON SHUTTLE LIST, you may be sorry.

After reading your post, I immediately called the Radisson.  We have a park and cruise reservation for our May 1st cruise that I made back in August but at that time, I was told I could wait to make the shuttle reservation a few days before we get there.

I decided to take your advice.  The young lady I spoke with said that it is not too early to make those reservations!  Hotel check out is at noon.  The first shuttle they offered for Carnival was 11:30 am.  Embarkation begins at 12:30 so the time is perfect for us.

Tried calling yesterday to reserve shuttle for 2/25  and they said it was too early and to call back beginning of Dec.  Does anyone have the name of the person who took their early reservations?  Thanks.

I was worried it would be like that. I had Hotel to Ship transfer's in Miami a few times and it was the same thing, I ended up taking a cab. I have not yet made my reservations yet.

MY TRAVEL AGENT DID THAT FOR ME WHEN I MADE MY RESERVATIONS TO THE RADDISON. SO I'M BOOKED ON THE SHUTTLE AREADY. I'M GOING ON A NEW YEARS CRUISE ON THE SENSATION (DEC 31, 2009)

It really isn't far but it is not a straight shot.  I don't recall the exact amount but I think it was around $15 after tip.  Trust me, it is worth it!

Yes, I spoke to a gal by the name of Jennifer.  She took my shuttle reservation for May 1, 2010.   Hope this helps you.
