    Temperature in January

Hi everyone!  I am cruising on Jan 9th 2010, I am wanting to know what type of temps will I experience during that time of year?  We are going to Progresso and Cosumel.  What should I expect at night on the ship?  Will it be warm enough to go to the beach in Mexico or swim in the pool on the ship?  We have a 7 and 3 year old so would be good to have an idea on excursions.  Thanks for all your help on this!

    Re: Temperature in January

I will be on the same cruise 1stTimer!

This is my first January cruise so I can't speak from experience, but I found this thread in the Cozumel board:  http://www.carnivalconnections.com/cruisetalk/forums/t/82702.aspx  that addresses winter cruises in that area.  From the cruises I have been on (in October and in April) I think that the sun will warm us plenty, especially once we get out into the gulf and towards Mexico.

My sister and I will also be on this cruise.  Looking at the average temperatures for the area, I'm expecting 80s and much more comfortable than Indiana.

    Re: Temperature in January

We were on the ship in Feb and it was hotter then Texas in august in mexico I got so sun burn. We just got back from 10-17-09 cruise I was so cold I wore my jacket. They did something to the pool it was warmer this time in Feb it was so cold. I have decided to cruise in the months Jan-july don't like august-Oct bad weather. I am a person who is never cold so when it is cold it is cold. We are booked again in April looking forward to some hot sun. I hope this helped you. Have a wonderful time.

Our cruise in Feb was really hot in mexico. We were on the first cruise after dry dock on Ecstasy 10-17-09 that was the coldest cruise I ever been on it was hot in Cosumel that was it. From now on we are going to cruise Jan-July just like the weather better.

    Re: Temperature in January

I'll be on the Ecstasy in Jan too!  Great time to cruise IMO.  Last year in January I went on the Conquest and it was cold and windy when we left, but the next day at sea was warm and so was all our port visits.  Great cruisin' weather - not so hot to be uncomfortable like it usually is here in TX.  Less kids too ;)  Have a great time!
