    Past Guest issues

It would seem to me that since I have sailed at least 6 times on Carnival, that the "Past Guest" price would be less than a newbie or at least the same price with an upgrade.  NOT THE CASE!!!  I can book Early Saver at the bottom of the boat as a newbie fairly inexpensive, but the same room as a past guest with an upgrade option is almost 150.00 to 200.00 more per person...  What planet does this make sense on????  And when I told the CSR that I could go to a different cruise line to get a newbie deal she just said " OK"!!!!   Seems Carnival doesn't care about the past guest

I was told that no rate will be Early Saver.  Past guest is usually a bit cheaper than just a flat rate but you also don't have to be at the bottom of the boat with Early Saver, you pick your room.

I booked ES at the 6a price & then they upgrade you to 6c same price.  The ES has a non refund deposit & the others are refundable, that is why they are higher.

    Re: Past Guest issues

When i got back from my last cruise i called to book next one and was told no more past guest 50 dollars off. so between my last cruise on carnival and my next one took one on different line. times are tough no matter how much you love carnival as myself and my family do, you have to look for the best deal.

    Re: Past Guest issues

You assume wrong - there's no implication, statement or requirement that the Past Guest rate should be less than any/all other rates.  The Past guest Rate (and the 55+ and the Residency and the Military Rate) are ALL just promo rates to boost bookings. did you expect the Carnival Rep to beg you or give YOU a special deal?  ken

the "$50 off" was the Welcome Home Discount for booking a next cruise within 60 days of preceding cruise; it's been discontinued.  ken
