whats the best way to book a cabin

    Hi,

I've only crusied once, on  =X=  with a singles group, but am noticing that the published rates are very cheap on the Holiday till she ships out next month.  I'm looking at www.vacationstogo.com and wondering if there is any hickup to booking with them vs. other ways or direct from Carnival. I'm traveling solo unless I can find a roommate at the last minute. I did post a note over on cruisemates.com looking to share a room, but at these prices, even in the room alone it looks real inviting.

I used them on our last cruise by advise of a co-worker.  Lets say I am now booked with a Carnival PVP and dont see myself stray away from her as long as she keeps working for Carnival.  Not that vtg was that bad it was just some things that I didn't like that after speaking to a pvp that could have been handled differently.  I now use Joey Hernandez at Carnival 1-800-819-3902 ext 82585.  I love speaking to her.

I use a travel agent in my town.  She is great.  I have had her book my last 3 cruises.  The first 3 were done by an agency, they were good, but when I wanted to go for my 4th cruise they had stopped doing "short cruises" (under 7 days).

The carnival website is very user friendly.  If I didn't have an agent...this would be my next choice!

Most of the time you will not find a cheaper price than on Carnivals web site. You will only find that the other sites sometimes will offer $50 or $100 obc, or free insurance or maybe pay your gratuites.  BUT that is only with certain rooms or certain dates.

Trust me i search ALL the sites and look for all the deals, we are booked on you 5th cruise and did all of them on the ships site.

I agree with everyone else about booking direct with a PVP @ Carnival,  for several reasons:  1.   The Vacation Planners are salaried, not commissioned.    2.  As salaried, they have to earn points for earnings, so they have to treat you right.   3.  Carnival guarantees you the lowest price possible, and will give you on-board credits if you find a better price.  4.  We cruisers that use PVP's all claim ours is the best.  5.  My PVP is the best, Marcy at 1-800-819-3902 ( you are all welcome to call her)(she gets points for referrals)(Everyone please call her)   6.  I believe in using Travel Insurance, If I cruise Carnival,  I want Carnival's Insurance.  (Just one of my quirk's)   7.  And if you book early, you can get big discounts.  8.  My upcoming cruise April 2010, 8s cabin has already gone up $500 total.  (Just ask me if I'm happy about that)   9.  And last but not least,  I picked the exact Balcony Stateroom that I wanted to spend a week in. (Funny how quirky I am about that)  10. I am sure that I can think of 10 more reasons, but I am a tired old man and don't have all nite to do this.

Does any one out there agree with me, or am I alone at this thing.   (Just Dreaming!!)
