The ship's decor was very pink and cheap looking, pink and silver circles everywhere mixed with black tile with neon green grout.

LOL...my 17 year old daughter is going to love this, she's gonna be all over this ship taking "my space" pics of herself posing  in front of the decor. Thank goodness for rechargeable batteries and extra media chips.

Also the past guest party is usually in the auditorium and they split it up into early and late no idea what you were talking about too small.

Yeah, when I was on the Splendor in April the Past Guest party was in the Spectacular Spectacular which is huge, and it was split up into early and late parties.  The venue definately was not too small for the shindig...

This is how it was last week was well.  They did two parties in the spectacular.  This was my first cruise so I didn't go, but I knew about it.

I really enjoyed the parties.  The ore d erv's(Spelling) were really good, had about six free cocktails, music and dancing.  Found a new favorite cocktail and had a great time.  And like any interior decor, it's a matter of taste.  I happen to like pinks.

Was this the welcome back party where you had all the free cocktails? I was lucky to get one when we went to this event on Royal Carribean. We will be taking our second cruise on Carnival next month so it's going to be our first welcome back party with themStick out tongue

BTW:  What is this new favorite cocktail of yours?

Jenn, when you are at the parties, don't be shy.  Servers are walking around with trays of drinks.  It's up to you to flag them your way.

    Re: Unhappy with Splendor

    Hey Sage56,

Glad you chimed in because I'm a first-time Carnival cruiser booked for March 2010, on Splendor - which from the website looks AMAZING. This post had me worried based on the title, until I read the details of what was wrong, and of course until I read your response. Kudos x 10 million on your comment: "and because it can get crowded there, I wouldn't even smoke there if I was allowed to, just to be courteous." Unfortunately, not all smokers are as awesome as you are, so it saddens me to think that without the crew's enforcement, people actually would just light up anywhere! As far as the other stuff goes, I'll be on the lookout for the layout cards, Lido drink stations, and travel glasses Big Smile My boyfriend & I are only two for dinner, so I doubt seating will be a problem either. The very first sentence in your post was exactly what I needed to read after a lot of negativity! lol I hope our experience is as positive as yoursCool.

     Take Care.

First of all in Calif smoking is prohibited in all buildings  even bars and has been for almost 15 years.

OK, since most of you have been on this ship already, maybe you can help me in my quest to reduce the size of my cosmetics case. Can you tell me what sort of things they have in the little amenities basket in the bathrooms? Do they still have the dispenser in the shower that's supposed to be body wash/shampoo, and if so, would you recommend using it as shampoo or should I just take my own?

Hi Jenn, they have soap and shampoo dispensers in the shower.  The basket has tooth paste, shampoo and conditioner, a razor and pepcid.  I can't remember anything else.  If you need things don't be afraid to ask your cabin steward.  She brought more conditioner because there was only one.

Thanks so much for the help, I guess I will just take my bottle of coniditioner, the shampoo in the shower should be fine
