Anyone going on the Paradise November 2nd?   this is my first cruise, and I am so excited.   Have booked a hotel in Long Beach Cruise and Park so that we can relax the night before and have a leisurely morning...... Any suggestions what time we should go to the ship.  It says 1.30 but from a lot of post I read people go much earlier......?  How long does embarkation take?  any suggestions would be great Thanks

Hi Sandra!  My DH and I are going to be on the Paradise on Nov. 2.  I'm so glad to find someone else that's going........I've only found 3 other posts from people that will be going on  the 2nd on the roll calls.  It's pretty lonely so far!  haha!  This will be our first cruise also and we can't wait!!!  But as this will be our first cruise, I'll let the cruising experts here help you with your questions.   They can do it much better than I can.  They are a great bunch of people here and are so helpful to us newbies......don't know what we would do without them!!!   But I think you can board as early as 12 noon .  We're staying on the Queen Mary the night before we leave.......we wanted to be as close as possible to the ship ( and the QM is right next door) so we couldn't mess it up! haha!  Anyway, I just wanted to say Hi! and that we'll be there.  Hope to see you onboard!!!

Hey thanks for the link.....that's really cool, nice pictures.  DH is dear husband, DW, dear wife etc.  There is a thread here that covers some of the chatter short cuts if your interested.  Go to Carnival Connection home page and there is a section call First Time Cruiser Talk, under that is a link called First Time Cruiser Introductions, when you get there about the seventh thread down is one called For First Timers:  Cruise Lingo.......it covers a lot of them, really helpful. 

WOW, you're coming all the way from Casper, Wyoming.  That's quite a ways!!  How long have you lived there?  We're in California.......in the Sierra Nevada foothills about 45 mins. from Yosemite National Park.  And I thought we had a long drive (about 5 hrs)!! haha!  I would like to see more of this country myself and I've lived here all my life!!

I'm looking forward to meeting you too.  You can tell me what Wyoming is like......I've seen some beautiful pictures!!!.....and England too.  Oh, and we're in U93.

thanks for the lingo update, I will go an look at that.   Those pictures of the Paradise were so beautiful.... especially the night one.... I will be up there every night, that was just gorgeous.   Casper is beautiful.... I live in a new house I bought in January at the foot of Casper Mountain.  The summers are only about 3 months long and the winters are looooooong.... for instance we had 12 inches of snow last weekend, and minus temperatures, now this Sunday is supposed to be 71.   Sometimes we get 40 degree drops in 1 day.... layers layers layers!

So you are on the same deck as us.  I will go look at the deck plans and see where you are.   Sounds like you are in a beautiful part of this country too. How long have you lived there?  Did you grow up there? 

I have lived in the States now this is my 12 year.  Music teacher brought over in 98 to teach music in Shenandoah Iowa.  Did that for 9 years and then came here.  

Only 19 days to the cruise.... I am so excited!!!! have a great day!

I hope the lingo posts are helpfully for you......they really helped me.  Yes, I live in a beautiful place too.....I love the mountains, they just get in your blood.  But I don't live as high up as you so we haven't had any snow yet......but it's coming.  Wish I had a new house!!!! haha!  We've lived in this house about 17 years.  I'm one of those boring people......I was born about 45 mins. from here, in Madera, CA. and moved to the foothills with my family in 68, got married in 79 and moved away (still in Ca.) for about 10 years, and then moved back here with my husband in 92 and have been here ever since..........boring!!!!!  haha!  But I did get to drive across the country to Tenn. with my Grandparents twice......have family there.  Got to see some beautiful country!!!!  Made me want to travel more, just haven't had opportunity.

We are going to be there at 11.30 too.   It seems that's what THEY do.... the seasoned cruisers....
