Long Beach airport is the closest by far.  Infact it is sometimes cheaper to fly into Long Beach.  The taxi ride is very close.  We like taking a taxi, then we can just get of the plane, grab a taxi and get to the ship without waiting for a bus to fill up!  If it's close to the port the taxi is cheaper a lot of times.  Hope this helps!

If you're flying in from the islands, you probably don't have a practical choice other than LAX. Flying to Long Beach would require you to change planes in LA or possibly San Francisco. Not worth it because of the extra time spent, and it will probably cost you more than the non-stop flight (assuming Kahului, Kona, Honolulu, Lihue, or Hilo as your departure point).

If you took a taxi from either LAX or Long Beach airport to the terminal, the difference in fare to go to LAX (farther away) would only be about $15 each direction.
