Roll Call, Carnival Legend Nov. 08, 2009

First Cruise!  Wife and I are celebrating our 25th Anniversary on board.  Only so much information available on the web, looking for insider info to make the cruise as memorable as possible.  Getting excited, date crept up on us rather quickly... Just over a month away!  Cool

We will be cruising with you!  Cannot wait, it is our second cruise but first for my son!  We have not sailed on the Legend before.  Cruise Critic has a roll call going with some other fellow cruisers.

Thanks for the reply.  I went to Cruise Critic and got lost on their website.  I'm not real savy when it comes to surfing or websites.  Just hoping to get some "be sure you..." and "try not to or don't ever..." from some of the more experienced cruisers.  This being a special ocassion, I want everything to be perfect (or near perfect as possible).  Thanks again, looking forward to meeting you and the whole cruising experience.Cool

Hello!  We are going on the cruise with you...my husband and I and our two daughters...8 and 10!  If you go to cruise critic and do a search for legend november 8, 2009 or legend roll calls you will be able to find it rather quickly.  There are quite a few nice people on our cruise and we are planning on meeting up after the muster drill.  Come join us!  Do you have any excursions planned yet?

I apologize for the unusual hours.  I am a shift worker and work from 5 pm to 6 am so my responses to the blogs are usually late into my shift when I have some spare time.  We will have some friends and family on board joining our celebration so perhaps we can all get together after the muster drill... BTW, what is a muster drill?  As for excursions, we have looked at what is offered and are simply overwhelmed at the options.  I really want to see the ruins but have read in some of the other blogs that certain ones are fake.  Don't really know who to trust.  We enjoy the tropics and have made multiple trips to Jamaica and Hawaii.  We just purchased our own snorkel gear because that is something that we do whenever we vacation.  Had a bad experience last time in Maui from a local "snorkel shop".  That said, I'm sure we will be doing some snorkeling along the way.  Neither one of us is the type to "plan" every day of our escape.  Probably won't know what we are going to do (for the most part) until the night before.  We've been known to spend a few evenings in the Casino's in the Detroit / Windsor area.  Looking forward to the whole new experience!  I will try to search that Cruise Critic site again and see what I come up with.  Talk to ya soon, Cool

Hello!  The muster drill is when you get your life jackets and head to your assigned lifeboat.  Kinda like a fire drill at school...a meeting spot...just in case!!!  It usually doesn't last too long and it usually starts around 3:30 since it has to be done before we sail away.

Where are you from?  We live in Toledo.  Are you going to Tampa on Saturday or Sunday?  We go to Akron on Friday to fly out Saturday.  We are staying at the Hyatt downtown Saturday night.

We have booked a waverunner Stingray City excursion in Grand Cayman, cave-tubing/zipline combo in Belize and we are still not sure about Cozumel and Roatan yet.  I think we will do Paradise Beach in Cozumel since they have alot of things for the kids to do in the water.  We might do a private tour around the island in Roatan.  I have heard that Roatan is absolutely beautiful so I want to see the island and also snorkel a little also!

I think you will have a great time on the cruise!  We have been on about 9 cruises and love it every time.  We got married 13 years ago in Barbados when we stopped there on one of our cruises!

If you go to cruise critic and search Legend Roll Call November 8, 2009 you will find a whole bunch of people that will be joining us.  It will be fun to meet some of these people on the ship.

Hi Amy, I am Scooter and my wife’s name is Leeny (Scott & Carlene).  We live very close in Dundee, 17 miles north of you about a mile from the now infamous Cabelas.  We will be flying into Orlando on the 4th and visiting with my wifes family for the 4 days prior to our departure.  Not really sure whether we will be staying in Tampa the night before we sail or not.  Guess it depends on whether the in-laws get under our skin or not LOL!  I was finally able to find the boards on Cruise Critic but have not had time to really read them, perhaps on one of my days off.  Gotta go for now, thanks again for the help.  Talk to ya soon.

My wife (Tobi) and I (Dean) are planning on enjoying our 20th Anniversary and my 57th birthday on board.  We are so looking forward to this trip, it's our second cruise.  I don't have much insider info but we decided to wait until we get to each destination before arranging excurisons, because on the last cruise we would get to port or talk to other cruisers and see or hear about things we wanted to do but were already locked in.

I would suggest printing out the excursions offered by the cruise lines as a point of reference.

Hi all, My fiancée and I will be on this same cruise on Nov 8th. We were on this cruise last year, same week and had such a GREAT time, we decided to do it again. We will be doing Tabyana Beach in Roatan again, the snorkeling was wonderful and it was a beautiful beach. We are renting a car in Cozumel (same as last year) gives us the ability to see the island on our terms, stop where we want. I CAN”T WAIT!

The more the merrier!  See if you can find time between now and departure to get to a party store and pick up some MG beads... the more outrageous the better.  There is quite a large contingent on Cruise Critic already.  Just a guestimate but we're probably already looking at 20 - 30 or more that will be sporting the beads.  There is even a group of cigar aficionados if you're into that.  Looking forward to meeting you all!

Hey badnuze, you may want to bring the extra beads cuz once other folks see how much fun we're having, they're all gonna want some!!!  BTW, what kind of bike rallys have you been to and what do you ride?  The wife and I spend our free time on our Ultra Classic.  Have not been to any rallys but we do a lot of traveling.  As for cigars, I prefer Dominican tobacco however, I am smoke free since Christmas day 2008 and am a bit nervous about smoking a cigar.  We'll see.  Lookin' forward to meeting all of the group.
