As a new cruiser I've learned a valuable lesson in cruising from my very FIRST cruise.  Please allow me to explain:

My very first cruise was booked for Alaska with Celebrity on the Summit.  I booked everything with a referred TA.  Not having a clue on what would be important she recommended me to purchase insurance for the cruise.  At first I just thought that was just a travel agent trying to make more money - wow, wow, wow, WAS I WRONG.  10 DAYS before my cruise it was CANCELLED!!! (Due to something wrong with the ship, can't remember).  Anyway, I was highly inconvienced because I had to reschedule at work but Celebrity offered me a FREE cruise to be taken within 1 year.  Fortunately I was able to rebook within 2 weeks on a different ship but made the curise June 11, 2006.  Alot to be said for cruise insurance Eh?

Gosh...I didn't get a hint of anger in anything Robert said.  It may not have been as nice as you might have liked it to be.  And it might not have had the empathy you were looking for when you posted your displeasure.  But I saw A LOT of anger in your original post.  If anyone is angry here, it's definitely not him.  Plus, you came on a Carnival site to complain about Carnival.  It's been my experience in a very short time on this forum that you're not gonna get the kind of sympathy you're looking for in that regard.

It IS definitely unfortunate what you experienced, and I'm sorry for you.  But, shoot...I'm okay with ANY trip away from home.  Joy is in the JOURNEY, not the destination.  Of course, I know I will probably get blasted for that.  For me, life is short and far too precious to spend it with a negative vibe.  That's just me.  I hope things work out for you.

This is against my better judgement, and normally, I really don't respond to such things.  But this is the second time you've brought up God and "the devil" and such.  If your user name ("Shepherd") is in reference to your belief, then you are not being a good steward, nor a good witness.  Honestly, the truth is that you've spent a good amount of time talking about the sawdust in your brother's eye instead of taking care of the plank in your own.  It is truly a case here of the pot calling the kettle black.  Dear One, please do not reference the Lord here when you are truly not following His word.  You say "love" and bandy around that you are praying for people when you should really take care of your own soul.  Read Corinthians.  Be not a clanging bell. 

Not one person here was unkind to you.  Okay, well maybe Robert shouldn't have mentioned acting like a 4 year old..but...if the shoe fits.  What everyone has offered was good advice, roll with the flow, life is too short, etc.  You backed yourself into a corner and now you have bared your teeth.  Who now is suffering the wrath of demons?  Again I am reminded.."Better to remain silent and thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."

Truly, I am sorry that you were so extremely unhappy with your Carnival experience.  But really, it seems that you wouldn't have been a happy camper no matter what the outcome had been.  And for that, I am even more sorry for you.

Carnival can't control what breaks on one of their ships. Gosh, if you were in your car headed for a specific destination and your car broke down, would you complain about having to go somewhere else and let it ruin your week away from home, knowing you still had your hotel, room service, free meals and free entertainment?

 Wow, I am sorry you had a bad experience with Carnival, I am leaving on my 4th cruise with them on 11/23/09 and all of my experiences have been great.  I have heard of them rerouting if the weather is bad for safety reasons.  Well I hope your next experience is pleasurable with Royal C. I am a true Carnival girl, but I would try another line just for comparison.
