    Hi,

Without trying to sound too dumb, I am a 58 y/o father who will be traveling with my 20 y/o daughter on this cruise.  Are any of you guys in her age range?

I can easily identify with sometimes thinkin I am younger than I am.  Certainly don't seem to act like 58.

I see you are going on Carnival Glory. We sailed on the Glory a few years ago and loved it . Hope you have just as much fun as we did.

In May on the Dream, are you arriving the day before or the day of sailing?

    Re: Carnival Dream 5-15-2010

I have always flown down for a cruise the day before.  Its not worth the risk if the flight is canceled and then either I or we miss the cruise.  So, seems as though my answer must be, yes, flying down the day before the cruise.  At this point no idea as to where we might stay.  Have stayed at the Airport Hilton before....three times actually.  We enjoyed it, but who knows.  Its so early now, so actual hotel arrangements don't seem too pressing yet.

Port Canaveral is are favorite port to sail out of. We have Cruised out of Port Canaveral around 4 to 5 times. I am thanking 5.

We always stay at the Radisson at the port, that is only 0.5 miles from the ship. You can see the ships come in from the hotal. Plus they will give you transportation to the ship.

There rooms run around $130.00 to $200.00 a night.

I have never stayed at the Radisson.  If you and your wife fly in the day before, what type of transportation do you take from the airport to the port?

We usually go through CBC Transportation. There web site is cbctranspotation.com and the phone number is 1-877-939-8294, this is a toll free number. Before you call, just look at there web site to see what kind of transportation you would like.

You and your daughter will love the Radisson at the Port. The web site is radisson.com/hotels/flcocoa.com.

You do not sound dumb at all.  I will also be on the Dream sailing 5/15/10.  I am so looking forward to the trip.  I have been on a couple of trips before with Carnival Cruise Lines and they were wonderful.  I am sure that you will find someone who will be in your daughter's age range.  I have always seen many different age groups on the trips I have been on.

Hi Rob !   I will be sailing on this cruise and will have 2 girls with me.  One is 20 and the other is 22.  My friends daughter wanted to cruise to celebrate finishing culinary school. Because of their age they couldn't cruise alone so her mom and I are with them.  We intend to let them go their own way most of the time.   My friends daughter is SUPER shy but her friend is SUPER outgoing.  Maybe the 3 can get together occasionally and do stuff as a group.  I can't guarantee anything, you know how girls are! Big Smile

Sherri,  Thanks for your reply. My daughter Katie is somewhat reserved, at least until she gets to know someone, and then is more relaxed.  Am sure you know how that is.  Hey, get this, my daughter's step-father has a culinary degree.  He got it from Johnson and Wales in Providence, RI.  Isn't that a coincidence?!  I will tell Katie about the your 2 girls traveling with you.  Am sure it might make her feel a bit better.  She loves to cruise, but has always found it difficult to meet others her age.  Sometimes it can be hard to meet others.

DW and I are now booked on this cruise. We were booked on the Spirit to Alaska for 5/18/10, but we decided we wanted to go somewhere "warm". We went to Canada on the Splendor in May, and it was quite chilly! Only 209 more days, and sail away with drinks in hand. Congo lines and the Merengue. Sea spray and lovely sunsets. Dancing on the open deck with the one you love. Private moments and romance...need I say more!!!

Seabiscuit, I said sea spray, not bug spray...geez.
