    Easiest thing is to not think about it.

    If you don't get motion sickness in moving cars or trains or the people mover walkways in airports chances that you'll get seasick are slim.

    Take along dramamine and other OTC medications as a precaution.

    we were going to buy the patches but they cost too much and the dr. said the dramamine works just as well. We haven't been seasick yet but still like to take everything just-in-case.

    Re: Sailing to Sea Sickness?

    From my prior posts...

    Here's motion sickness info in general - there are lots of options!  I have posted this before, but here it is again via copy & paste...

    My husband cannot go around the block in the car without getting motion sickness and he uses the patches for the entire cruise.  Every once in a while he still feels like he is about to get motion sickness and puts on the wrist bands which work in conjunction with the patches.

    I usually do not need anything, but if the water starts to get a little rough, I will put on the wrist bands as a precaution.  I got sea sick once years ago and just do not want to go through it again so am over cautious - I took a pill and slept for 2 days!!!

    We do take a "paranoia" sea sickness kit with us, but we have never needed or used anything except patches (hubby) and bands (both of us):

    1. Transderm Scop patches - prescription drug required by husband;
    2. Wrist Bands - one set for each of us;
    3. Liddell Motion Sickness spray - homeopathic;
    4. Ginger chew candy from Trader Joe's;
    5. Ginger pills;
    6. Charcoal;
    7. Pepto or its generic;
    8. Bonine or its generic

    There are also other things out there called Three Lollies (for adults and children) and MotionEaze which we will probably add to our kit - they are also homeopathic and I have seen it recommended in various posts.

    Keep in mind not everything works for everybody.  You can get pills on the ship, but they may not work for you.  You need a prescription for the patches and I recommend talking to your doctor before you cruise and before taking things like Bonine (or anything else for that matter) due to drug reactions, interactions, etc.

    Also, eating a fresh apple (get this at the buffet) or drinking ginger ale with bitters (from a bar) can help.

    BTW, I am really sensitive to drugs and Bonine knocks me out!

    You can reuse the bracelets as long as they still have their stretch and are snug around your wrist - we have had ours for years.

    Re: Sailing to Sea Sickness?

    Yes, they do have pills on the ship - they are the same as Bonine.  However, everything does not work for everybody.  Bonine works for a lot of people, but it knocks me out - it puts me to sleep and I lose a day.  I made the mistake of taking one pill as a precaution once when the water got really rough - I was out like a light.

    Re: Sailing to Sea Sickness?

    I take a pill one day before and the day I board the ship.  I only got sea sick on the first cruise that I went on and ships are probably more stable now, but I don't want to take any chances.
