I went with my husband in February three years ago and we went snorkeling. I didn't think that it was cold . I actually had a great time it was not to cold and not to hot. We are going again this February with are three daughter and planning on going to the beach. So in my personal opinion no it is not to cold .

In my personal opinion snorkeling in Freeport was like being in heaven. I did not want to get out of the water I was having such a good time I was in total ah. I brought an underwater camera amd the picture looked so cool. If I had my way when we go back this year I would go again but this time we are brining are three daughters and you have to be 10 to snorkel my youngest is only 6 but I am sure we will find something just a good to do as a family. Have a great trip and I hope you love it as much as I did.

    Re: Freeport in February

We were in Freeport on October 21st and the water was too cold and the waves were too high to enjoy the beach.  The air temperature was very pleasant (Low to mid 80s) but not the water.  The Sheraton, Our Lucaya Resort and other hotels were closed for the fall season that we didn't know about so we had no place to change, no pools to use, etc. making for an unpleasant day in Freeport.  Plus, the ship terminal is so far away from the resorts, shopping, etc.  We also didn't find the people to be as friendly as in Jamaica and the Grand Caymans.  Needless to say we probably won't do the Key West/Bahamas cruise again.
