What is the latest on parking at the city owned garage, they are always changing policies.  How much is it now?  Are they once again accepting credit cards?  Has anyone parked at the garage across from the Holiday Inn lately?  How much did they charge? Thanks for any up-to-date info.

We just sailed out of there on 9/7.  Parking was $75 (5 day cruise) and we used our debit card.  The River View hotel a block away charges the same.  The one across the street from the hotel (next to the main garage) charges the same as well.   

 I believe you are referring to the city garage near the Radisson Admiral Semmes.  The parking rate is $7 per day.  So it would be $35 for the week.

I would be greatful for any info you could give me on parking at this lot.  (I didn't even consider an alternative!).  Any info you could give would be helpful - phone number, directions, etc.  Do you have to reserve ahead of time?

Not sure if my first answer went through.  The garage is located on Jackson, just off of Government, between the Hoilday Inn and Radisson.  Jackson is 1 way so you have to go south on Clairborne ( just past the Holiday Inn ), next left and left again on Jackson.  Garage will be on the right.  I have used it many times with no problems.  Your options are, drop luggage and people off at the terminal then go to the garage, walk from the garage with luggage (about 1/2/mile down Water St.), or take a cab from the garage $5. Also you have to plan upon your return.  Like Dave said the rate is $7 per day max compared to $15.  Also the credit/debit card machine at the terminal is always breaking down (it was not working on Oct. 1) so be prepared tp pay cash. No reservations at the garage but i never saw it full.  The hotels use it for the guest parking so there is security. Hope this helps.

 The city garage is attached to the Radisson Admiral Semmes hotel.  You can pay the hotel $55 and they will provide a shuttle to the port which includes the parking.  Or you can do like I do.

Drop my wife and luggage off at the port.  Drive and park at the garage.  It is about a 6 block walk back to the port.  This only cost $35 doing it this way.  The $45 I save goes a long way on the bar tab.
