    Cigars

Is it okay to smoke a cigar on your balcony??

How would the person sitting on the balcony next to you like it?  While smoking, you need to be a courteous smoker, so if others are around you, you might want to refrain.  However, there is a lounge on board that is for cigars.

You know, I just asked a simple yes or no question. I don't need a lecture in civility. I haven't smoked in over 20 years. The question was asked by a family member who is cruising at a later time on the same ship.

My husband smoked his cigars in the sports bar and on the balcony, our room steward has always brought him an ash tray. .

I don't have an answer but I hope it is no.  They do have cigar lounges on different ships.

I personally wished any smoking on the balcony was not allowed. My husband will probably bring a small cigar to smoke, but we already had the discussion he would need to find an area away from the cabin. Lol!

    Re: Cigars

Martha   I agree with you.  I wish smoking was not allowed in any of the cabinsbecause of the danger.  Until a short time ago I would have argued with anyone who said it was allowed.  I have since learned I was wrong.  I have never smelled smoke in any of our cabins, they must be doing something right.  I have a very sensitive nose when it comes to cigarette smoke, I can't stand it.  Once in awhile we get a non-smoking motel room and you walk in and it hits you.  I don't understand why anyone would go into a non-smoking room and light up.  However, they do.  I have seen burn marks on one or two of the vanities in our cabins but thought people were just sneaking them.  I guess not.

Per Carnival Capers, Cigar smoking is permitted in the Cigar bar and the starboard open deck of the ship.  The cabins are not addressed however, cigarette smoking is indeed allowed in the cabins except for the "Spa Cabins."  They are smoke-free.

    Re: Cigars

I personally don't smoke but hubby smokes small cigars, as I said earlier, he only gets to smoke maybe one in the cabin, on the balcony only, he doesn't mind going to the cigar bar since I don't smoke.  I think it's a personal choice, but I can't stand to walk down a hall and be bombarded by the overwhelming smell of smoke coming from a cabin.  But I would never tell someone they can't, that's their choice.
