    Thanksgiving week 09 on Triumph

We are booked on the November 21st cruise to Bahamas during the week of Thanksgiving. Wondering if anyone else will be on this one, we would love to meet some new people! Has anyone else done a Thanksgiving cruise? I assume that they do the traditional turkey dinner on that Thursday?

Re: Thanksgiving week 09 on Triumph

My first cruise was in March and was our honeymoon cruise, we had a blast and as soon as we got off the boat we booked this one!

I will suggest that yall participate in the "newlywed game" that they do in the theatre. It was hilarious, we didnt get picked to go onstage but we wrote down the questions and quizzed each other and came up with some very interesting things we didnt realize about each other!

    Congradulations!

We did the Thanksgiving cruise on the Fantasy in 2008

    And also celebrated wife's birthday.

Traditional turkey dinner and it was good.As all the food was that trip.

We are booked on the November 21st 2009 out of NO LA.  First Cruise.  HELP.  I know that there are two formal nights, but what about the other nights.  Do we dress for dinner every night?  We would love any tips.

Re: Thanksgiving week 09 on Triumph

If you choose to eat in the formal dining room on non-formal nights its pretty much casual dress, we usually wear pants and a nice top, there is a list of things that are not allowed. This is the general "rules" of the dining area as posted by carnival.

Cruise Casual Dining Dress Code:  Gentlemen - Sport slacks, khakis, jeans (no cut-offs), dress shorts (long), collared sport shirts; Ladies - Casual dresses, casual skirts or pants and blouses, summer dresses, Capri pants, dress shorts, jeans (no cut-offs).

Not permitted in the dining room during the Cruise Casual dinner for ladies and gentlemen: shorts, gym shorts, basketball shorts, beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, cut-off jeans, sleeveless shirts for men and baseball hats.

Cruise Elegant Dining Dress Code:  Gentlemen - Dress slacks, dress shirts. We also suggest a sport coat. If you wish to wear suits and ties or tuxedos, by all means we invite you to do so.  Ladies - Cocktail dresses, pantsuits, elegant skirts and blouses; if you‘d like to show off your evening gowns, that's great too!

Not permitted in the dining room during the Cruise Elegant dinner for ladies and gentlemen: shorts, gym shorts, T-shirts, beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, jeans, cut-off jeans, sleeveless shirts for men, sportswear, and baseball hats.

Keep in mind that there are other dining options on the ship, like the buffet on lido deck that is offered for all three meals. There is no dress code for this....come in your bathing suit if u want.

The first night is a "come as you are" dining, so whatever u come on the ship is fine. Please remember that you may not recieve your luggage within a timely manner so either include some extra clothes in your carryon if you would like to change for dinner the first night. On our last cruise we didnt recieve all of our luggage until after 7pm.

    Hope this helps :)

some friends told me about the formal night and said that you ware the formal gowns and tuxedos.  I went out and bought two gowns and my husband a nice suite.  How tacky will it be if we ware it.  Please be honest.

Re: Thanksgiving week 09 on Triumph

Thanks so much for the advice.  My husband and I are not really "formal" either.  His idea of dress up is jeans and I nice pull over shirt.  So this will be something new for us.  If I would have let him he would have wore shorts and a t-shirt for our wedding day.  I hope we have the change to meet you'll on the ship.  We are from Napoleonville, LA.  are you'll from LA/
