Does anyone know how the VIP check in at Fort Lauderdale works??  In Tampa, you now have to stand in the general boarding line until you get through security.  Just wondering what kind of line we should expect, mom and I are sailing the Miracle on November 4, 2009.

 We are also looking for a sail and park hotel/motel, any suggestions are greatly appreciated.  If we can't find one, has anyone ever used valet parking at this port???  How convenient is it??  Is it right in front of the entrance to boarding??  Do they have plenty of available porters??

VIP check in in Fort Lauderdale was great!  You have your line for everything so you NEVER have a line!!  We stayed at the Ramada Cruise Port it was a decent place and they provide a very nice shuttle to the port and it came with a hot breakfast buffet, but there is nothing around the hotel not even a convenience store.  This next time we are trying Comfort Inn Cruise Port which also has the shuttle and it's adjacent to a shopping mall so it should be better for getting last minute items.
