Surfing in Zihuatenajo/Ixtapa

Has anyone gone surfing in Zihuatenajo/Ixtapa? Mainly interested in renting a board and finding/getting to a nearby beach that has small to medium waves for a novice surfer. Thanks in advance for any info.
