    Comment on Splendor Cruise-July 13, 2009

I just wanted to comment on the menu for dinner meals and especially the desserts.

I have travelled around the world several times, in fact, I have logged over 4.5 million air miles during my travels.

This was my second Carnival cruise (the first was on the Fantasy).  I felt that everything on that first cruise was well within my expectations, including the uniqueness and quality of the main courses served and the desserts served after every dinner.

The menu on the Splendor was very not at all of the same quality as that on the first cruise.  The first two nites were very common in both offerings and in quality.  Any good 2 star dining room could have easily outclassed what was served.  I was really disappointed!  Even worse, the desserts were very unimaginative, lacked quality of preparation, and were very common!  I have a background in pastry preparation and found the offerings very mundane/  Shame on Carnival!  Whoever the head chef is on that ship; he needs to be replaced or at least retrained.  How can you possibly compete with NCL and your other competition with that kind of food service?

I had wanted to start getting things together for my next Carnival cruise in 2010 but the food service and offerings on this last cruise have left a question in my mind as to whether I should seek another cruise line or stay with Carnival.

How do you manage to keep stealing this person's mail ID?

Your background in pastry preparation should tell you that is the pastry chef's responsiblity. Or does that mean all that pastry you've consumed is now in your "background."

I think you should seek another cruise line or see if you can get the pastry chef position with Carnival or blow it out your pipette.
