    Roll Call Liberty 1/9/2010

Who else is going?  We are going to Megan's Bay when in St. Thomas.  Working toward our VIP status (long way to go).

Our family has 7 rooms and is having somewhat of a family reunion (my other two sisters and brother's families will not be able to make it.)  Looking forward to celebrating my sisters 35th anniversay, brother's 15th anniversary and mom's 80th birthday!  We have 5 balcony rooms and two oceanview and are very exited!  Planning to do some parasailing and snubaing.

Re: Roll Call Liberty 1/9/2010 - Dining Table Sizes

Can anyone tell me how many the tables can seat in the 6:00 dining room?  We will be having probably 11 people and hope to be able to sit at the same dining room table.

Our (wife, nine year-old daughter and me) first cruise too. Nervous but excited. Haven't told the kid yet.

Did you register her in the kids program? the pre-teen program is supposed to be really good. We booked it for both days at sea. That's about all we have pre-arranged (other than one night at the supper club for the wife and I -- hoping that the daughter will be okay with the slumber party thingee).

Don't think there is any rush for the kid's program. I wanted to pre-book a couple of things just to add to the "concrete-ness" of the cruise. You know just to make it more real. I hope she will like it and fits in. I suspect there won't be a lot of other Canadian kids there (we live in the Canadian prairies). The only other thing I want to make sure to book is the Stingray encounter on Halfmoon Cay.

Funny that was #1 on the girls list too.  We're also researching a Cabana, it sounds pricey but REALLY nice.  Our oldest is 14 and then our 9 year old both girls.  We're from Western NY about 80 miles south of Buffalo so we're not too far from Ontario and head up to Toronto probably once a year.

Haven't thought about a cabana. I'll have to check it out. Do you like Toronto? I spent a lot of time in that neck of the woods last year on business and my wife just got back from a conference at Niagara. We have friends who lived in Fort Erie and commuted across the border to work in Buffalo (which they would refer to as "Gotham City").

LOVE Toronto!  Its such a nice city.  Lots of great stuff to do, museums and such.  The US side of the falls is the pitts so we go over to Canada to do stuff.  I've heard of Buffalo being referred to as that before.  A lot of people come over to shop both in Niagara (big outlet mall) and Buffalo for the malls.

Nice knowing that there are Americans who appreciate their northern neighbors. Just kidding as I am only one generation removed from the states -- my mom's family immigrated from Minnesota in the late 1800s. My great-great-grandfather somehow got conned out of his homestead rights as a Civil War vet (and POW) so his son came to Canada to start over. Actually that branch of family tree goes back to the original 13 colonies. My great x 8 uncle was a signatory of the Declaration of Independence and his brother was the first catholic bishop in the US. What category of stateroom did you go with (if you don't mind me asking)? We booked a suite but I am not sure if it will worth the added expense.

I ahd to go look.  DH has done all the planning.  We're just in a regular room on level 6.  Its got a King size bed, a roll out couch and then a bunk bed type bed for the youngest that pulls out of the wall.

We decided to splurge because we were afraid that a cabin issue might sour us on the cruising experience. But it was a hard decision. I found it really difficult to wade through all the category levels and try to put a relative value on each vs. the actual cost. Doesn't help when the costs can change dramatically over a couple of days. Oh well.

I found a great review blog of Liberty c/w lots of pix. Young couple travelling with her parents. First time for the youngers, with olders being experienced cruisers. Was the Western Caribbean cruise, but I just skipped over their ports of call. No kids so no info on their programming but...

On a personal note I want to tell you how much I and my wife Sandra appreciated and enjoyed your posts. I can tell you and your family are as excited as Sandra and I are (and the kid if she knew about it).
