I just got back from my cruise on the Liberty & mine was terrible too.
Not for the reasons you mentioned, but the staff over there is mainly incompetant, & then they have the nerve to tell me I have to proove to them that they made the mistake & I didn't.
That's how the cruise started for me when they screwed up my son's b-day decorations saying that I never told them to do it on the 31st instead of on embarkaction.
Their internet was slow & wouldn't let me log in 20% of the time & then I am the one that has to pay the rediculous internet prices. They also misinformed me (something they do very well at Carnival) that the internet prices would be cheaper if I brought my own laptop.
The Internet Manager wouldn't do a thing for me & then argued with me that I did log in on that day. LOL, YEH BUDDY, eventually I got thru, but not after trying many different times. Oh & he didn't return my call. I left it w/ guest relations. He claims he never received it, & he has no VM at his extension.
Then they again misinformed me TWICE that I could get a legit receipt if I got a massage at their spa so I could write it off on my health plan.
Their 1-888 # told me this after I had her put me on hold & check AND the spa told me this too. When I asked for the receipt a day later b/c I forgot about it when I was finished the overpriced hot stone massage, I was told I couldn't get the receipt AND, for 3 days the manager of the spa avoided my calls & then she tells me this is the first time she's hearing of this. They refused to give me my money back, so now I'm out close to $200, something I would NEVER have gone to if I knew I was footing the entire bill.
Then on the last day they "suddenly" billed me for my son's facial when he had received it 3 days earlier. Because I didn't know this, I played Bingo thinking my bill was one price when it wasn't. They tell you to look at your folio & then it's not even accurate & they slide the charges in at the last minute and NO, I don't wish to spent 45 minutes going thru every item & try to remember what should or shouldn't be there when I'm on vacation.
There are other issues in my 10 page review, but it would obvsiously be too long.
I have given Carnival 5 cruises of my money & all they care about is getting more money off of me. I understand business, I'm an entrepreneur myself, but the hard sales pitch every single day & all the screw-ups were just too much for me to handle.
I'm here on vacation, I shouldn't have to sit by the phone waiting for people to call me, or phone over & over & over again just to get any service.
I did overall enjoy my vacaiton b/c I wanted to enjoy it, but I will NEVER EVER book with Carnival again & I will be letting everyone know of my experience.
I should have realized when Carnival didn't return my calls when I was trying to book the cruise that the vacation was going to be a disaster & yes I booked with them b/c of their low prices, but it's not worth it in the end. You should be relaxing on a cruise, not chasing Carnival & having them insinuate that you are the problem, not them.

P.S. if anyone can tell me which other cruise line is the best (reasonal pricing), that would be much appeciated.
