Oh awsome! I love Florida.  We have vacationed in Destin and Panama City...loved them both!  I wanna retire there some day. (dreams)

That sounds like fun.  We are leaning towards during one of the all inclusive beaches for part of the day, then hitting the shopping. Maybe drift into Charlies 'n Carlos, crawl our way back out.  I heard the drinks are killer.  Some of my friends almost got left last year because they drank too much.  I'm not sure what we will do in Calica yet.  Xcaret has received great reviews on cruisecritics.com.

Wow Shirley, you are a cruise veteran!  Congrats!  Hope you are getting special perks for all those cruises.  Living six miles from the Georgia line, how far do you have to drive to get to port?

    Re: Roll-call October 19th?

We will leave the day before, drive to Pensacola (stay at the Navy Lodge), then it's only about an hour to Mobile.  We are looking forward to the cruise.  It's a great get-away.

this year we cruised on Carnival to Cozumel (Holiday), april on Princess 14 days to Hawaii, May on Princess to Alaska including the land tour (our third time), leave in September on Princess for Canada/New England, October on Carnival to Cozumel, November on Princess for the Western Caribbean ( we like to cruise at Thanksgiving, beats cooking) and then December on Princess in the caribbean (got a great deal).  that finishes this year.  March 2010 we cruise on Princess to the Panama Canal (second cruise there), then a repositioning cruise in late April-early May.

Guess you have now realized we are retired.  My theory:  Adventure before Dementia!

That's great- sounds like you have a great time in your retirement!  Would love to hear more about the cruises, especially Alaska.  Maybe we can all meet up once we are aboard.  Love your theory too.  One of my favorites:  Don't show up at the grave in a pristine body; slide in sideways, totally worn out, saying wow what a ride!

Maybe between now and 10-19 we can work out a meeting place for those interested in seeing what everyone looks like.

If anyone is interested, please indicate.

Sounds good.  My husband and I would be interested.  Since you have been on the Holiday before, maybe you could suggest a place for those interested to meet up.  Thanks.

    Re: Roll-call October 19th?

I'll figure something out.  Just need some input as to what day and time.  Reason is the first full sea day, some may want to spend time at the pool  Me, I will be sleeping late.  The first evening is good, depending on dinner times for those interested.  the first night we are usually up very late, spending time in the casino.

The casino area is a good spot that is certainly recognizable.  We could meet there for those interested, then move to the buffet area.  There is lots of space.  snacks, food, beverages, etc., available.

    Re: Roll-call October 19th?

The first evening would work for us.  We have requested late seating for dinner.  We always stay up late, but then we are early risers too. (We are accustomed to barely any sleep-we have two grandkids that like to spend the night with us on the weekends)LOL

For those interested, we'll keep up on the posts and work it out.  We are so looking forward to this cruise.  First real vacation for the hubs and I in seven years.Big Smile

You are long over-due for a vacation.

We have requested early dining, but it's not assigned until you board.  the last three cruises on Carnival we were assigned late dining, had it changed on two cruises to early dining, but on the last cruise (Holiday) left it for late and never ate in the dining room.  We don't do formal night anymore, so the buffet was fine with us.

    Hello fellow cruisers!

Diva B.B.(F/K/A Diva C), of www.DivasOnDeck.org here and will be joining you on the 10/19 cruise with my sister Diva Gee Gee. We have broken away from our group to take this cruise this year, as sisters getting away from it all. It will be my 4th and my sisters 5th cruise and its only the begining. Cruising has become a habit of ours to be sure at least once a year to embark on any Carnival cruise ship the destination really does not matter as long as we are at sea. Yes it is true a cruise is only what you make of it, from the biggest to the smallest once you are on board its all about YOU!!!! We chose to curise the Holiday since this will be its last year and we would not miss it for anything. Looking forward to seeing you all on board. Just look for the Divas truly not to be missed!

    XOXO

My husband, Terry and I will be on this cruise also.  We are from Arkansas.  I am not pregnant, but I do like to be barefoot!  Also, Terry is not my cousin.  Now with all the Arkansas jokes out of the way.....we are looking forward to a great time.  It is our first cruise.  I know the Holiday is the smallest and oldest ship, but who cares?  I have nothing to compare it to!  I know we will have a great time.

    Re: Roll-call October 19th?

Looking forward to meeting all of you.  We are trying to put together a meet and greet the first night out somewhere in the vacinity of the casino.  We will post as soon as more specific information is available so interested cruisers can join in.  We have been counting the days since February - I didn't think it would ever get here, but it's not long now!
