    teens no rules

I just got off the valor and found it awful that Carnival allowed kids to roa the ship to all hours of the night.  I know parents are responsible but carival should set curfews and have more structure with the club o2.  kids can come and go as they please, get rowdy, and I heard some ages 15 and 16 sneaking back to cabins with boys or girls.  It is impossible to keep track of your teens because the size of the ship,  Maybe carnival should have color coded bracelets so if staff sees a teen wandering past a designated time, they would contact the parents.  A better idea is a locator system so parents can track the kids on the ship.  Kids snuck liquor from ports onto the ship without parents knowing because they don't check.  I would never take my teen again because there was too much peer pressure to cut lose and be wild,

Are you suggesting they insert tracking devices into the teens hands?  Tongue Tied

no but perhaps bracelets that parents can rent or purchase for peace of mind.

and I really do not think the kids would keep the bracelet on.... it is really up to the parents to set the rules for the kids.... carnival offers them things to do.... but can not make kids go.

We just returned from the Fantsay !  This was my daughter 4th Cruise . She know what she can do and what she can't !  If at anytime i seen kids hanging with her that were rude or doing something wrong i didnt care who they belonged to i told them what i thought and how i thought they should behave. Some didnt like it and some said YES MAM!  But if you raise your kids right they will do the right thing  at least we all hope they will . But again i will be the FIRST to say i will  never say he / she dont do that because im not with them 24-7. I will never deprive my child of a vacation because someone elses kids act like animals. There is peer presure all around us / them these days! Its there choice what they do with it or how they deal with it !  Counting them days bk down 124!

This was our first cruise.  Its not that my daughter had issues but there were large rowdy groups of kids that made alot of adults uncomfortable.  they were in and around the casino and in shows that were suppose to be 18 and over.  I just think canival should have more safeguards and actually enforce the rules.  Some of the kids were really rude and running up and down halls at all hours.  Yes the parents should make rules but when they are out at shows, they cannot be monitoring their kids so does that mean all other older passengers have to just deal with it?

I concur, some teens, and "tweens" are incredulously vexing.  The best thing to do in this situation is lay the law down.  Find the biggest douchebag/tool box of the group (likely the one wearing some weaksauce polo with a popped collar) and pop him square in the face!  Zip it!

I can agree with you Raven that there should be a curfew on board for kids under 18. There are curfews in most towns, why not enforce one on board. Not to mention, if a kid does something stupid and gets hurt, who do you think those parents will hold responsible? Most of the responsibility for the teens is up the parents as it should be, but a curfew is most definitely not a bad idea. It could be as simple as a security guard asking to see the S&S card of someone they believe is under age past the curfew hour, and then putting some kind of id on the card that says they are under 18.

I guess I really didn't consider that the parents would need to be in the room with them as well... didn't really think that far ahead. But, then again, my kid is only 17 months and I don't have to think about it. I will let you know how I handle it when I get to there. Be back in a few years...

    Re: teens no rules

Its hard because i watch the youtube videos and alot of teens are running down the halls and knocking on doors and running. It is up to the parents. I will be watching my daughter and if she disrespects and acts like that she will not be going to that ClubO2. I hope that she has been taught correctly and behaves. Its also not only the kids. There will be so many drunk adults wandering around the ship to, acting like morons.

QFT, just find the biggest "bra" in the group and teach him some manners.  my two children would never dream of acting in such a way.Zip it!

Perry: I'm awake. Are you watching me sleep, Walter?
Walter: Yes. You're beautiful when you sleep.
    Perry: Watch me now.
    Walter: Okay. Shut your eyes.
    Perry: I shut my eyes.
Walter: Oh my god. It's beautiful.
