Gosh, are we going to have the whole ship to ourselves?

Hello!!  Anybody out there?????

We are also cruising on Christmas eve. My husband, my 18 year old daughter and her friend plus myself. This will be our first cruise, very excited! Hope they have some Christmas type activities. My son is currently deployed and we didn't wanta have a traditional Christmas at home without him so we decided to cruise. I don't wanta totally forget Christmas though....

We are going on the Christmas Cruise.  There are 9 of us ranging in age from 60 to 3.  We have never been away from home during Christmas so this is going to be different.  Can't wait though.

Honeymoon/Christmas cruise. This will be both of our first time on a cruise. A whole new world out there.

So glad to see fellow cruisers!  I think waking up in the Carribbean Christmas morning will be awesome.  I am traveling with 5 boys ages 25, 19, 17, 16 and 15.  My daughter who is 21 and I am are sole females!  My hubby is a drilling engineer offshore and won't be home for Christmas, so we wanted to do something different.  I am sure the ship will be decked out for the holidays and the food will be great!  It always is.  I am bringing stockings and stuffers for Christmas morning.  Don't forget, you can decorate your cabin doors.  That will be fun since there is so much available at Christmas time.  For any new cruisers, if you need any info about Mobile or cruising in general...I willl be glad to help out!

We booked yesterday! It will be my husband and I, our daughters (age 5 and 6, but the 6 year old will have a birthday on the ship) as well as my mother in law and father in law. Although we'll be away from my family on Christmas, I am expecting a super time. We've cruised once before on Disney Cruise Line, but my in-laws have never cruised before.  I too am already thinking about what to do about Christmas (and birthday) presents (ie what to bring that is small!).  We have never cruised Carnival and have never cruised out of Mobile.

No worries!  Carnival is wonderful, especially for kids.  I am not bringing any gifts onboard.  I am giving the kids money to spend in port and bringing an extra bag to bring the stuff home!!  Mobile is a wonderful, very accessible port.  The facility is very nice and boarding has always gone very smoothly.  Be prepared to pay $50 for parking when you arrive...for a 4 day cruise. 

We are staying at the Holiday Inn, Bellingrath Gardens for $99. They are providing a free shuttle from the hotel to port, and allow you to leave your car there for free while crusing.

We will be there - Family of 25 - Christmas gift to everyone from my Mom and Dad.  We have 2 year olds to our 80+ year old grandmother.  A few of us have cruised before but not out of Mobile so any information about embarking would be helpful.  We were curious too about Christmas decorations, Santa on board??  At the present time, we are trying to figure out how to get the whole family down to Mobile.  We'd like to find a small charter bus.  If anyone knows of any, let us know!  We are so excited.

While I'm Jewish and can't really help with the Christmas present problem, I did just celebrate my daughters 5th birthday on board the Sensation this summer, and if you tell your waiter ahead of time (her birthday was the first night on the ship, but he still managed to pull it together) s/he will round up all the waiters/waitresses and sing to your daughter.  We ordered a cake from this website, and it was GOOD, like really, really, really good. And relatively inexpensive (I think it was $7... much less than I would have spent at a bakery here in Philly) and they put five candles in it, lit them and all.  It really was memorable.  From the time we boarded (we had the VIP check-in and she saw on my daughters BC that it was her bday and she must have alerted whomever because everyone knew, and I sent her off with my parents after we boarded and I managed to get to the room WAY early to take decorations on the door [double sided tape is a MUST have] and the room steward brought a whole crew of towel animals to put on her bed, and they really went above and beyond.  After we got back from dinner there was a cookie face, and more towel animals, and she had colored a little birthday card (in both English and Thai, and that was REALLY cool).

So yea... if you take the little bit of effort, you can make her birthday MEMORABLE.  my daughter is already bugging me about which ship we're going on next year for her birthday and if that can possibly be topped (looking at a disney cruise, but any ship for her would do)

Great idea funny99! The girls loved the towel animals on their last cruise, so I'm sure that will be loved this time as well! I'll make sure to tell them it is her birthday! :)

 We did a Disney cruise last year, it was amazing!!!!
