    Hampton Inn Downtown

We are cruising next week.... YOO HOO! We are driving down Sunday and have booked the Hampton Inn for the night before and the Carnival package which allows parking at the hotel for cruise duration. At time of booking i was led to believe the hotel was just across the street, which I have now found out was not true as it is 3/4 mile away. Has anyone stayed here and utilized the Carnival package? I am starting to think I may be better off just parking at the terminal??? I am hoping to draw good information from you experience cruisers on what the best thing to do is. (or informed locals) Any suggestions and/or advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mark

From what I have read in previous posts the walk from the Hampton to the Terminal is not a bad walk. We are also staying there maybe we will run into you. We have decided when we get there on Sunday to go out and walk to the terminal to see exactly how to go.  Getting excited.

I am also considering staying at the Hampton Inn, and taking advantage of the Cruise package. I wonder if they have a shuttle to the port? If enough people stay there that need to go to the port, surely they will get us there....? Any thoughts???????

They do not provide a shuttle to the terminal. You can hire a taxi if you want. We stayed there for our last cruise and loved it. We walked to and from the terminal, it was a 7 minute walk. For departure we actually drove to terminal and dropped off our luggage then parked at hotel and walked back to terminal. It was no problem at all. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and the continental breakfast is excellent, the hotel is very nice. We are staying there next month when we cruise on the Fantasy.
