Need a family friendly hotel in Long Beach

We are looking for a hotel very close to the pier that offers either a suite or adjoining rooms. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

There is a Residence Inn by Marriott in downtown Long Beach, brand new, all are suites with kitchenettes, 1 mile away. They offer a park and cruise package if you have a car for less then the port parking.

Thanks, I'll look into that. We won't have a car. Is there transportation from the hotel to the port?

There is a Holiday Inn Downtown that does have a shuttle from the hotel to the ship the next morning.  I've read very mixed reviews on this hotel.  It's about half and half from being a great, clean place to stay to it's a dump!.    I had a bunch of points from my travels so I used a few of them to book the hotel.  I've stayed in a lot of Holiday Inns and usually you can depend on them being pretty good, not fancy or by any means the quality of a $200 a night hotel.  I will post my results when I return Oct 4 from a cruise on the Splendor.

I'm not sure about the connecting rooms and suites but from what I understand the neighbor is a little iffy as far as walking at night.  There is a hospital across the corner and church on the one corner.  Their shuttle will take you anyplace within 3 miles.

    Good luck!

Susan.  On cruise departure and arrival days there are many taxis available at the Residence Inn and the port.

I think the Residence Inn Downtown is very close to the port, might be walking distance.600 Queensway Drive, Long Beach, CA 90802 is the hotel address. 231 Windsor Way Long Beach, CA 90802 is the port. It's just less then 1 mile. The Hotel isn't exactly in what I would call Downtown. It's across a small small waterway from downtown. I don't know how much you'll be bringing with you or if your suitcases have wheels. You can call them. This is in a very nice area with great ocean views, shopping, dining all near by.

For our March cruise we're staying at the Long Beach Days Inn on Pacific Coast Hwy. located about 3&1/2-miles from the pier.  You can check their website, and I think they have adjoining room packages also.  We're paying about $61.00 a night with a 10% two-night discount (for I and my wife, we're driving from home).  I stayed there a few years back and it wasn't bad for the money.  Hope that helps!
