Hopefully she will come back to Florida.  My DH and 2 DS's and I sailed on the Elation out of Miami in May of 2006 after she was repositioned after Hurricane Katrina.  Our youngest son cried Sad because he didn't want to leave Mr. Ray, our cabin steward.  Mr. Ray gave my son his email address and answered his email when we got home.  Cruising with Carnival is like cruising with family.

I have been wondering the same thing! If you notice there are no sailing’s in February as well..and then back in March? I think she is going in Dry Dock again for the full Evolution of Fun..Maybe even the new balconies they gave the Sensation and the Ecstacy! At least I hope. My gut tells me that they are seeing how this new itinerary is going and tweak it if necessary. At least I hope, I to love my Elation and sorry SeaJewel you cannot have her back! She belongs to us now! But SeaJewel please know you are more then welcome to come over to the west coast and we can have a toast on Lido together!

I asked my PVP and she said Carnival simply hadn't released the schedule yet.  I love my PVP, but I don't think that is the answer.  Other ships have their 2010 and 2011 schedules up already.  I'm hoping they are not doing something crazy with my Elation. Tongue Tied

The Elation has a very diffrent scedule then any other in the fleet..so hopfully they are just seeing if it is going to work and it is getting booked.  With no booking in Febuary and then bookings in March it has to be going in for Drydock.  Lets just hope.  All I know is I have less then 70 days to my Elation Cabo Cabo Cruise!   Cant wait!

Re: Elation Itinerary After Apr 30, 2010

I have less than 40 for my 5 day trip to Cabo and Ensenada.  I really don't care where it floats to, I just want to be on it.  The Elation is so convenient.  I don't have to pay for parking since I work downtown. I just park my car at my work and walk the few blocks to the cruise ship terminal.  I would be very disappointed if she left.  AND on top of it all, the Spirit leaves here during the summer months and does its Alaskan trips.  So we'd be stuck with no Carnival ship out of San Diego! Sad  And I'm not too crazy about other cruise lines.  I'm a Carnival girl through and through!

February doesn't look like drydock, maybe that will be May?  From another forum:

Carnival Elation is among the trio of Carnival Corp. ships chartered to house security personnel during the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. .As reported here yesterday, the other two vessels are Holland America Line’s Statendam and Oosterdam. A Carnival spokesman said he could not confirm the total charter figure of CAN$76m cited by Reuters because the company does not release charter rates. The Games take place in February.

My PVP told me about the Olympic housing a month ago. Since they are housing the security forces, maybe they are now being told not to say anything? So many people are aware of it now, I think the proverbial cat is out of the bag.

2010 Olympic RCMP and Police Cops Elated with Carnival Cruise Line Housing Deal
As reported by Bob for 24 Hours Vancouver newspaper, the Carnival Elation Cruise Ship has now struck a deal with local RCMP to charter it as a 2010 Vancouver Olympics Integrated Security Unit. Passengers who booked a Mexican cruise holiday on the Carnival Elation cruise line for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, however, are not very ecstatic as their holiday plans have been stopped abruptly by this latest announcement. The Carnival Elation is a two thousand and fifty two passenger 2010 cruise line that normally operates 3 to 5 day trips from San Diego down to Baja Mexico. However in early 2010 before the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games, the Carnival Elation will cruise empty up to Vancouver to gear up for the event. Just announced by the RCMP Vancouver 2010 Integrated Security Unit, Carnival Elation cruise ship will be one of three ships that will be chartered for the police force and security during the Winter Olympics at a tune of $76 million. Housing more than five thousand cops for the RCMP, the 2010 Vancouver cruise ships will also house troops during the Winter Olympic Games and the deal was finalized in April 2009. According to Vance of Carnival Cruise Lines, “The Carnival Elation was scheduled to be in service and we are contacting guests sailing on these voyages. They will be offered alternative ship or sai dates or can opt for a full refund of their cruise fares.” In addition to the Carnival Elation 2010 cruise ship chartered by the Vancouver RCMP and troops, there are also two ships from Carnival’s Seattle sister company Holland America that will also play the same role during the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games. The nineteen hundred and sixteen passenger MS Oosterdam and the twelve hundred and fifty eight passenger MS Statendam will join the Carnival Elation Vancouver 2010 cruise ship charters for the RCMP at Ballantyne Pier, east of Canada Place. In addition, lawyers for the RCMP are also waiting for a Washington judge to decide their March 31st application to dismiss the breach of contract lawsuit by Cruise Connections Charter Management. Back in November 2008, Cruise Connections sued the RMCP after the failed $57 million contract because of a dispute over payment, taxation and currency exchange. All in all, these 3 Vancouver 2010 cruise ships from Holland America and Carnival Cruise Lines will house more than 5000 RCMP, troops and police/security force for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Hi, Regina!  The Elation on April 30, 2010 is doing the 15 days Panama Canal.  Looks like a fabulous cruise!

Want to do this cruise eventually, we are booked til 2011 and want to do the Panama Canal in 2012, so I'm hoping CCL will consider doing the Panama Canal more than 1 cruise every year.  It's such a popular cruise, I'm surprised they do not do that cruise in March and April every year!
