Hello, I wanted to let you know how my families first cruise went.

    1. When I made my reservation, I was told that my infant son could use the baby pool on the Ecstasy, however we found out that he could not once we boarded the ship.  I am reporting this because I had a option to take a vacation at another location, and I was promised with supposed supervisor approval that my son could swim in the baby pool.  My family was disappointed by the lack of integrity of the reservation specialist that booked our trip because she lied.

    2. We all caught the norovirus while sailing.

This will be the last cruise we take on carnival.  It was the first vacation we've had in 6 years, and I am so disappointed that we were lied to, and then after not being able to swim as a family (which is really the only thing you can do with an infant on ship) we all go sick.  Horrible experience with Carnival.  We will make sure to tell everyone we meet what happened to us.  Absolutely horrible.

Sorry that your experience was so bad. I do believe though that children need to be potty trained in order to swim d/t health and sanitation issues. Sorry that you were miss-informed. As for the Noro-virus, It can occure anywhere. We all take risk with sailing. I have never had that issue. I do see that you have another Cruise posted on your clock. Are you still doing it? It is not an easy task to take a young child on a Cruise. My neighbors across the street just came back from a 5 day on RCCL. She said she would love to Cruise again, but this this time without Junior. Said that she didn't get to do things that the rest of her family did because she had to go back to the Cabin so her 15 month old could sleep.

I don't get it? Why couldn't your baby use the baby pool? Why do you have a ticker saying your first cruise is in 87 days? And why would such a small thing upset you so much? Its a baby, it doesn't know anything except your peeved. As for getting sick, now come on why would you blame that on the ship? People get sick. You should blame people who come on sick and not the ship itself. Couldn't you swim "as a family" at any of the ports? There should have been a simple solution to such a small problem.

Wash your hands with soap and water. And don't touch your eyes, nose, mouth, etc with your dirty, grubby hands.  That's no one's fault but your own

Are you the same person that was complaining on and on about the Ecstasy in June? I think maybe.

Amen to that! With Purell dispensers all over the ship, and the tissues for the door handles in the rest rooms, only being careless would be a reason for stomach flu. I have never even encountered anyone who has been afflicted.

    Re: Carnival Lied to us

This poster is having fun bashing Carnival....they have a TON of negative posts throughout these boards about multiple ships and issues!  Yet, like others have mentioned.....the ticker says their first cruise is upcoming. Each one says they will never sail again, yet from the various posts, they have been on every Carnival ship!!

There's an explanation for the cruise clock in another post - all of the anonymous posters end up with the same signature and it varies periodically - they all used to have a quote for a signature but am having a senior moment right now and can't remember what it said - something about sailing of course.  So, they're NOT all the same person - just posted during the same time period.

You can also get norovirus from food, so if a person gets the virus, it may not be their fault for not washing their hands. It could ne the person who prepared the food who didn't wash their hands after using the bathroom. Yes it happens!

    1. Children need to be potty trained and out-of diapers to use any of the on-board pools.  Most infants would not be.  Since you posted here, clearly you have 'net access and know how to use a web browser.  Therefore, you could have easily known about that policy, and most probably did know, but decided to play dumb.
    2. Wash your hands.  Seems pretty easily, but I bet you never do, even after using the bathroom or changing your kid's diapers. That's not Carnival's fault. Plus, Carnival provides hand sanitizer at appropriately places on-board, like at the entrances to all the dining rooms.  Try using it.

We had the same problem on our ship - the Miracle.  A customer was irate because his infant child could not swim in the pool.  I don't know where he was from, but the guests reported him to the Carnival Staff.  No one wants to swim in unsanitary conditions, and his child wearing a diaper in the pool creates that kind of situation,

People are extremely selfish and they don't think about the health hazards to the public.  If anyone's child swims in a pool with diapers on, let it be their own!
