What you did was make a blanket statement... that would insult any parent or grandparent who happens to have a child that wasn't potty trained early for other reasons..and Like I said... This thread is getting to be soooo elementary!!!! Let us just let it die. Don't respond!!! Instead and yes Va_Cruiser I am highjacking this "beat the dead horse" thread and go to something maybe just a little more important. Their is a man coming home in 4 day's from his 4th tour in Iraq. It is under Cruise addict anomuyous (sp)? Let us all NICELY thank him for his dedication to our Freedom!!! He hasn't had the privalage to be in a Cruise ship pool and worry about it!!! Thank you. Dont get me wrong I love kids. All I said was if a kid isnt POTTY TRAINED by 4 they EITHER A) Have bad parents B) Are retarted I didnt insult AALL kids.

by the way my grandson wasn't potty trained until he was about 4... and I know he is a very normal bright young man that has parents that were very good parents but like I keep trying to explain to you... at times there are other reasons for things... so not a good idea to just make a wrong blanket statement

The Original Poster has been back from her cruise for a long time. I thought this thread had died a deserved death.  If you notice the ironic title and it's had a spelling problem for a long time.

VA - my empathy for the grandchild with Asperger's Syndrome. I had worked with kids with this many other special nees.

Linda - would you like to hijack it to something less controversial or maybe just informative? I agree with you it deserves hijacking.

 You know I can completely understand no letting kids in diapers in the pool, last thing we need is some pooh floating around, if nothing else wait till you get to port and swim in the ocean, won't matter if you pee there, just thing how many people have peed in the ocean to get it that salty  :-p

I know this is late but we are taking my 2 year old on a cruise on 10/10/09.  We didn't know right away either.  Once we found out we understood why.  The pools are filtered sea water, they are drained and refilled everyday.  The urine is not the issue since urine is sterile.  It is the poo that posses a problem.  We have cruised before, not with the little one though, and there are a ton of other things to do.  When we hang by the pool we will take him to camp carnival.  Any way I hope you guys had fun.
