    EXTREAMLY PISSED!!!

My husband and I along with our 2 year old little girl are booked and paid for the july 25th cruise and i am trying to find out if she will be allowed in the pool areas on the ship... I am afraid that she won't be because I just read  their rules and regulations it says that they have to be potty trained (they can't even just wear a little swimmer's diaper like at most pools!!!)  and if that is the fact then we are pretty much just screwed because that is the main thing we were going to do was hang out by the pool while on the ship....

Be Pissed. She can't go into the pool or the hot tubs.  But that's not to say no-one does it.  Just be prepaired for nasty looks, there are health rules here for everyone.  The only thing there was for the tots on the Sensation last week was to be held under the sprinklres by the water slides.  After someone brought their little one into the hot tub I refused to get into it.  Who knew if they had a leeky swimmie?  I'm not a nut but I don't want to get sick on a ship.

People with little ones in diapers need to understand,it isn't personal,it is just a health issue.Swim diapers are like condoms, they are NOT leak-proof.Please don't take this personal.Wink

Unlike the pools in the U.S. that are clorinated, the pools and hot tubs on the ships are salt water. If a little one, and I know where you are coming from beacuase my son was not pottie trained when he went on our first cruise, has an accident, the pool or hot tub has to be emptied, cleaned, and refilled. There are usually over 2000 guests on board and it is not fair to them, us, if they are closed beacuse of this. One thing I saw on my last cruise was someone brought a small little blow up pool and kept it beside them opn the pool deck for the little one to play in. I thought this was a great idea. Enjoy your cruise and don't let this get you down. Soon enough your little one will be potty trained and you can all enjoy the pools together.

    Happy cruising.

    Hi Mrs-barrio,

Take a small inflatable pool with you. Take it up on deck and she can play in it and you and your husband can take turns watching her while the other one is in the pool. You can also put it in the shower stall and use it as a bathtub for her.

The no diapers in the pool rule is a health code and Carnival has no control over it. All cruise ships have to follow this rule. E-coli can be transmitted to other passengers if a child has a BM in the pool. I'm sure you wouldn't want her to catch that from another child.

Have a great time and remember, next year she'll probably be potty trained and this will no longer be an issue for your family Smile.

Thats why I always read the rules and reglulations before I decide to do something. We are going on the Destiny and they have a small pool just for infants. Its outside by camp carnival with play houses. I dont know if the ship you are going on does maybe you can look into it.

"Diapers are not allowed in the pools.... This is not just a Carnival policy and you could have found that info before booking a cruise. Like another poster said, you can always bring an inflatable pool for her but I am sure you will all be surprised at how much fun you can have once you get over the fact that you just found out about this.  On Port Days, maybe plan a beach excursion.  A lot of beaches at Ports of Calls are free.  Hey, you have a couple of weeks and your little girl could surprise you and suddenly be potty trained.  The information below can be found on the Carnival site.  It is a Public Heath Health issue and Carnival is just following the law.

Due to United States Public Health (USPH) Regulations, we do not allow children in diapers, in swimming diapers or those not toilet-trained in the pools."

    Re: EXTREAMLY PISSED!!!

I agree with all the other comments.  It's just not sanitary and I wouldn't want my 2 year old in a pool on a ship where thousands of strangers and it being non-clorinated and salt water at that.
