I think if I can find out for sure that you can get a massage at Chankanaab, that is where we will go so we can get a little of everything. If we get enough money saved, we may do dolphins or discover scuba, both at Chankanaab.

John Heald answered my questions on Friday's blog! Here are some of the things he said:

The Holiday is our last remaining ship from her class which also included the Jubilee and Celebration both of which have been retired and sold on to our parent companies operating in Australia and Europe. The Holiday has something special. She always has had and for me she will always be that extra bit special because she was my first ever ship. I boarded her in 1987 as a skinny but drop dead gorgeous bar waiter. The theatre has a huge stage and some of the best sightlines in the fleet. The promenade is colourful and most importantly with only 1500 passengers you will always feel that the service is both personal and immediate. The slide, the 9 hole golf course, the shows and the fact that the crew are totally dedicated to the ship will make this a very special cruise for you. She feels like a ship should feel and I know you will have the very best time.

Please keep reading the blog thingy and I will be publishing the Halloween schedules very soon but, yes, I think you should plan on bringing costumes.

I've been on 1 other cruise and it was on the celebration-- it was awesome!! I hate she was retired after we cruised on her.... Im so excited to cruise on the Holiday before she retires, Ive never been on a new ship so I doubt I could be disapointed anyhow ;0)

Thanks for sharing John Heald's "blog thingy" answer.  Cool  It's good to know.  I may be inclined never to book another October cruise again, but we'll see how things go.  In any case, almost any cruise is still better than no cruise.

    Sorry Sibelius,

My 12 year old daughter and I are trying to get sponsers for the American Heart Association, horseback beach ride--we are riding our horses to raise money as Heart disease is the #1 killer.

If there is anyway you could help or even a small donation (would be a tax deduction!!) would be greatly appreciated and your name/company will go on the banner listed, thank you!

We'd also love for you to register and join us!!!

Looking around at a slideshow from the Holiday, I have found this picture and decided this is where I want to spend my "fun day at sea".

    Are you excited yet??

No problem.  I like to help out where I can, but I balk at clicking links I don't know anything about.  I also think the personal note here makes it more likely for people to help out because it makes it seem even more personal than clicking the link and seeing it over there.  Putting 2 & 2 together, that sort of thing...

We are finally booked! Payed and booked today and we have a fantastic room! We are on the Empress deck, port side in the middle of the ship two rooms down from the elevator. They had a deal where you could pay for the lowest deck and they upgrade to the highest. I am so happy that this is finally happening now! Just 46 more days til my first cruise!!

The price dropped from when I booked... only $10.00pp... still, that's fine with me. I now have a $20.00 on board credit. Is the Carnival site the only you can watch for cheaper prices? I've been checking daily to see if the price will go down, any kind of credit is good :)

You're lucky.  I guess I got such a great price in the beginning that I can't get anywhere close to that now.  I keep hoping I might upgrade to an oceanview (something I should have booked in the first place), but the price difference is so great, I just can't justify it now.
