I am trying to think of something special for my son his birthday is Christmas Day.

This is his first cruise. He will be 16.

I feel his pain my birthday is the 23rd. They can do a birthday cake in the dining room or you can order ahead and have them decorate the stateroom. I usually wear a birthday button or tiara and the employees stop me and sing and such. My birthday is one of the reasons we cruise at Christmas time.

Yes, December birthdays usually got lost in the holiday.  May be he can have a little party at Club O2. If he make friends with kids his age.

Hey Ileana, why don't you coordinate with the cruise director the very first chance you get on day one, and see if he can arrange a birthday singing for your son. Maybe arrange for you two to sit on the front row somewhere. Hopefully he will be the only one with a birthday on that day or at least the only 16 year old boy, and if the Carnival Dancers were the ones coming down to him and surrounding him while singing Happy Birthday. That would be awesome for a 16 old. I know the best birthday I ever had was my 16th birthday.

That is a great idea. I will make every effect to catch up with the cruise director on Day 1.  I am ordering online a gift basket and birthday decorations for our room when we arrive.

Great idea.  On my last cruise in May on Valor.  We had a large roll call. Over 600 hundred postings.  Check the "Roll Call May 17, 2009".  The roll call was very good and informative.  We setup a meeting place on the Lido Deck on Day 2 on the cruise. About 20 - 30 of us met from all over USA and Canada.  It was a great experience. Let see if we can get something rolling.

Good job. I promise you he will always remember his 16th B--day. I still remember mine and its been many years since then. Of course being able to drive my own car was another big deal, as is for all boys that age...

Same here. We have made many friends thru roll call/greet & meets on board and mostly at the Lido Deck. I have a friend now who's wife passed away last year and is now married to a nice lady from Canada, and we all met on the Carnival Spirit on a Alaska Cruise...Kenny

What about one of those Ipods with the touch screen?  Also, may I suggest that you order Birthday stateroom decorations for him.  You can order it online through Carnival.  I think it's about $32.  You can request for the stateroom to be decorated upon embarkation.  When your son enters the room, he will be surprised.  I did it for my daughter's Birthday and she loved it.

I am ordering the birthday decorations and a Birthday gift backet, with a Carnival T-Shirt and Baseball Cap and some other stuff. And gift vouchers for soft drinks.

Outstanding on your progress. Your son should be the proudest , happiest by the end of the cruise, and have lots to share with friends when he gets back to school.
