The cruise ship is decorated in garlands and there is a big tree in the atrium, typically. Oh and they do a midnight carrolling on Christmas Eve, which is always fun.

We have been on a couple of cruises either before or after Christmas and they are beautifully decorated.  The last one we were on had a special Christmas show for the children.  Your children won't feel like they have missed out on anything.  Have a great cruise.

I am considering booking this cruise.  I have a 15 year old son.  He will be turning 16 on 12/25/2009. So this will be a special birthday cruise.

I am dreaming of being on the Dream.

We've never cruised at Christmas before...however, we do spend time during the Christmas holiday at Walt Disney World. It is always BEAUTIFULLY decorated so I would assume that the cruise line would do something similar. This will be my husband and my 6th cruise and our children's 5th. We love cruising!!!! Carnival - San Juan, Puerto Rico - 1990 NCL - Pride of America - Hawaii - 2008 Carnival Ecstasy - Cozumel - 2008 Carnival Ecstasy - Cozumel - 2009 (we celebrated high school graduation, a wedding, an anniversary and a birthday with family on this cruise -- there were 9 of us) Royal Caribbean - Voyage of the Seas - Barcelona - Thanksgiving 2009

Hey Covey family - We're from Naperville.  That makes us practically neighbors!  Boy age 11, girl age 13 (plus other assorted older teens).  Hope to see you there.

Does anyone have any suggestions about excursions???

We are having the same problems with excursions, we have a group of 10 not really sure what anyone wants to do.  I am thinking in St. Maarten we won't do much.  However if I looked at the Royal cruise correctly the Oasis of the Seas will be in St. Thomas and St. Maarten the same days we are - should make for some very crowded condtions.  I would like to get a look at that ship though.

I think in Nassau we may take the kids to the aquarium over in Atlantis, can't justify the waterpart for the short time we will be there.  St. Thomas has added a new sight seeing excursion that we may decide on doing though.  Got to get everyone together and have us all decide.

We went on a cruise last Christmas.  They didn't decorate the whole ship, but they had an area on the main deck with a huge tree and there were some decorations.  They also sang Christmas songs.  I heard Christian and Secular songs.  It was by far the best cruise I had been on so far.

    Getting married on embarkation day!!!!!

WOW!!! We are getting married on the beach at St Thomas!  My family, fiance, and I cruised during Chrismas last year!  It was wonderful.  They decorate (not everywhere) and they put up different Christmas backgrounds for photos.  I am wondering when the two formal nights are.  Anyone know???

Re: Carnival Dream Roll Call December 19th 2009

Hi Everyone, this will be our 5th Christmas (New Years) Cruise

We have 2 boys 10 and 8 and they love the camp. Especially the late night party till 3am (10 yr olds).

Yes Carnival does a nice job decorating. Last year they had Chanukah & Christmas at the same time and every night they did Chanukah in the lobby. On Christmas day, they had one of the singers work with the camp kids and they put on a holiday show, with the cruise director dressed up as santa and he gave a present to every kid. (we have gotten presents i believe the last 3 years) Last year also when we boarded they gave us champaign (holiday sailing) Many ports even have holiday decorations up.
