What to do at Port Canaveral, FL

    Hi,

I am taking Pride ship July 3 and it will stop for whole day on July 06 7-7 PM. Is there any thing best to do without going through Ship's excursions? I have traveled in the past to different destination through Carnival and I found out that it is very economical to do our own out of the ship then booking through the ship.

I have been to Orlando area and do not want to go there again.

    Thanks,

    Rajesh

    There's Kennedy Space Center.

There's a wildlike/bird sanctuary somewhere around there, possibly up towards Titusville.

If it were late Feb/March, there'd be Spring Training games not too far away.  As it is, there's probably minor league baseball games -- the Florida League is going now.  Check out Daytona, the Cubs A affiliate.

If you like hot wings, there's a joint in Merritt Island called Frankie's Wings.  Been 20 years, but I still have heartburn.

Desperately seeking 10th cruise for the free laundry.

    Hi Rajesh,

What did you end up doing in Port Canaveral...I really don't want to pay for Carnival's excursions, either.  Are there any malls around?  How much was a taxi?

    Thanks!
