My husband and I are taking our first cruise on the Valor on September 13th for our 30th wedding anniversary. We are so excited.  We have reserved the Supper Club for our anniversary dinner and our shore excursions are booked as well.   Looking forward to meeting new friends.

     Welcome Aboard....Bumblebee

Some People bring Ginger Tablets that you can get at any health food store.  My husband always get an RX for the patches before we cruise.  They will also have tablets available on the ship but it is best to be prepared ahead of time.

Please join us on the Cruise Critic Roll Call Pages.  There are several people on our Roll-Call for Sept 13th that are busy chating and sharing ideas...We would also like to meet you at our Meet & Greet on Monday, 10am adult Pool Bar Lido Deck.

    Check us out~Smile  http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=938832

Hi!  We have 4 cabins booked on the Valor 9/13 sailing.  We are all excited and ready to go.  We are all family except one, a daughter's friend.  Wanted to find out if any other kids are going.  My 17yr old daughter and 12 yr old daughter will be on board, they have cruised before and love the kids clubs.  Also with us my 5yr old nephew and 3 yr old nephew.  Looking forward to seeing Belize and Isla Roatan for the first time.  ANy suggestions on good tours for these two ports.  In Grand Cayman the stingray tour is great and Cozumel the shopping is good.  Hopefully the weather will continue to hold out.  Cheryl and family

    Dear pjtulsa,

Your information is great. Ralph and I will be sailing on the 13th as well, this will be our first cruise to roatan and belize, we got our act down for the caymans and cozumel cause we have been their before, but we are how should I put it, kinda like not really knowing about roatan or belize, I read that it some times takes an hour or more to get to shore on belize and we would like to book a trip for tubbing with a company on line but is it really that hard to get off the ship and make it to our pick up spot?  We don;t mind staying in town if their is one by the ship and looking, by I need some infor and any would help.  We are hoping to get to a beach in roatan and do some shopping also, anything anybody could help us with would be wonderful.  As time gets near, we want to be set and just have a wonderful time as always when we go.  Thanks again for sharing any information.

    Welcome Aboard....

Do come over to the Cruise Critic site and join us... there are close to 30 of us on there sharing GREAT info...

     http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=938832

As for Belize, there is No problem with you getting off in time to go Cave Tubing.. We just did it in early June...  You just need to be up early and in the lounge that they are giving out tender tickets about 15-30 minutes before they start... The tender ride alone is at least 20 minutes but we will arrive 8am ship time = 6am Belize time...  The agents for the tour company will all be lined up waiting for you...  Its a long ride to the cave tubing site, take some water with you and be sure to order the lunch if its an option.. we were so hungry after the cave tubing & Major Tom found us a lunch that hadn't been taken.. We had to split it and it was so good I think we could have each eaten 2...

In Roatan, I used Victors drivers both times we were there but this time we are going to Fins & Flippers... You can easily leave the gated area and hire a taxi to the Mayan Princess for $$20 each way to the beach.. The Mayan Princess charges $10 for a day pass that allows you to use their pool, beach, chairs and facilities.  Its really pretty, take a look at their web page... The only thing is they only sell so many passes so make sure you go directly there... We also went to Infinity which is a nice area but you can't use the pool or chairs but you can lay on their beach for FREE... The food and drinks were also good and reasonable and there are tables & chairs you can sit at if you are eating/drinking.

Both Belize & Roatan have very little except a small shopping area at the port... so a tour or taxi is needed.

Please come over to Cruise Critic and introduce yourselfSmile  We will be having a Meet & Greet on Monday and would love to see you there..

First thank you for the information you supplied and I am sorry for sending you more emails, but have you ever heard of Island Marketing LTD, they seem to have a bunch of tours to the islands we are going to but, we did not see any writes up;s on them on website or cruise critics. Do you know anything about them or does any body else. I promise, nothing further after this.

Please don't be sorry, you can ask as many questions as you want.  Just no gtys I can answer them...

As far as Island Marketing, I have not used them but have seen them mentioned on Cruise Critic a lot... We may use them for Nachi Cocom in Cozumel.  I have not heard of any problems with them like other companies have had.

If you look under each port of call on Cruise Critic you will find recommendations for them.. Please join us on CC, we have very friendly folks on our roll call that LOVE to answer questions.
