If you can change your plans, I would advise you take another cruise (on another line). Carnival is notorious for ripping people off.
I never heard that before. Where is that documented? I guess that is your opinion and opinions are llike noses, we all have one.
I knew this and was prepared to pay for the extras. However, be warned: to use your cell phone, Carnival charges you 6$ per minues.
Cell phone service is charged based on your personal carrier. Carnival only charges for the room phone service is you call other then to a ship phone.
To use the internet, they charge $24 per hour!
Yes that is correct and you had the option not to use it. Their service is priced the same as most other cruise lines.
The spa is a great place to take a ton of your money. We booked two treatments on the first night and it put us back $600 (you do need to tip on top of that!).
Yes the spa is expensive but being a doctors wife, I am sure you knew that. Spa's on land are also expensive.
The food is really bad.
That is another opinion. A lot of people think Carnival's food is very good. So do a lot of cruise rating polls.
Thanks to our Maitre'd, Shawn, he had some delicious Indian food made specially for us and a few others. Thank God for that, we ate the chicken curry three of the five nights!
I hate curry type dishes so I guess your opinions will mean not much to me if you like that stuff. See everybody is different.
The lobster was a joke, as big as my thumb and I am a medium sized woman!
You could have had as many as you like. The smaller lobsters taste better and are not as tough.
The Guest Services were awful--they kept calling me to tell me my credit card was not authorizing my charges--it was a gold AMEX (LOL).
What is so awful about them doing their job? If your credit card company rejected the card then it is up to you and them to fix, not Carnival.
Green, Blue, Gold, Platinum AMEX cards, what is the difference? I personnally have a black one waht does that mean? Is the color of your credit card a big deal?
They have an art auction which I enjoyed--I bought $1,200 worth of art. This was a subject of my credit card validity as well-I had to go down (from Veranda deck) to the guest desk five times to get the bill sorted out.
Repeat complaine see above.
So, if you think you will have everything paid for you are naive.
Who is being naive? Everyone who checks their Carnival documents know that everything is not included.
My shipboard credit account was over $1,800 for incidentals (of course most of that was art--and it had better be as good as they said it is).
That is really not so bad when you consider you bought art work for $1,200 dollars and spa services for $600.00. If my math is correct you did not spend any thing else. I guess you don't drink alcohol or do shore excursions. but that is OK.
Try to avoid this ship and Carnival if you can.
Your opinion not the majority.
They are really a disreputable company.
Your opinion not the majority.
Unfortunately, they own most of the entire cruise industry,
I guess they are doing something right.
As with the negative, there should be some positive. That would be as previously mentioned our Maitre'd, Shawn and our waiters Joseph from India and Iniggere (from Indonesia) our wonderful cabin steward "Sofi" (from Indonsia) and the Art Auction staff from Park West Galleries. Our room location was pretty cool (Veranda 2) up front on the top floor for rooms.
The staff is usually pretty good whenever I hve cruised.
I wish I had taken that money and cruised on a FIVE STAR ship instead of this dump which I would rate at 1.5 stars.
I doubt that you could with the money you spentfor the Carnival cruise. By the way Berlitzrates the Inspiration 3 stars (***)
Sorry, but it's my opinion
And you certainely have the right to express it. It is just your opinion is not held by the majority but that is OK.
and I have travelled all over the world
WOW I'm impressed
and on at least 5 cruises.
Me too.
Better luck next time. Bon Voyage.
