Hello Hermancat here, we really like the Valor, it's been 2 years so can't remember specifics. I don't remember anything that was very negative at all. Most people take a couple of days to find their way around all ships so they have little maps at the Percer desk make sure everyone gets one. The shows are good don't miss those. If you are on a budget watch the gambling and bar bill. Be on time at dinner, if you are late everyone at table suffers-not a good way to make friends. My wife and I are into the cruise itself-we don't do any adventure tours, read connection letters and pick something to do at each port or just stay on board. They also have infomative shows telling about shopping and tours on board. Be patient and enjoy you should have no problems

You will have a great time.  Make sure to let your Maitre D know in the dining room you will be celebrating a birthday.  They will bring a cake to the table and sing to you.     This will be our sixth cruise on Carnival.  My husband and I are from Tucson, Arizona.  We will be flying the day before into Fort Lauderdale and then take a shuttle to our hotel in Miami.  We are looking forward to our cruise.  We haven't made up our minds yet what we want to do for excursions.   We are going on a the Paradise Cruise out of Los Angeles just a month before the one in November.  Can't wait for both trips.

Hi, we saw you on the cruise critic site.  There are more posts on Cruise Critic than on this site.  Hope you have a wonderful cruise.  Scott and Donna

Looking forward to having a wonderful time.

Thanks for the info.   I've started checking out the cruise critic site yesterday.   There are some great pictures of the valor on the site.    Does anyone know what the camp carnival is like for kids?   It looks great and hopefully it will be great.

Our friends kid loves Camp Carnival.  She made friends and didn't even want to leave Camp. They have different group levels.  Others have said their kids have really enjoyed.  We don't have any children, so it is hard to tell you what it's like.

Well, when I was there, I didn't think they played enough games, and the ones they did, most of the others were shorter and faster than me, so I ran out crying...but it seems like most of the kids really enjoyed it..

Thanks for the info.    about the kids camp.    I was looking at the carnival website and it is amazing the amount of things on board for adults to do.   Looks like fun!!!

Do you know if it is ok to bring on a bottle of wine at the beginning of the cruise or are you charged a corkage fee?

    Hi, Sema

You can bring a bottle of wine or champagne per person on Embarkation Day.  They do charge you a corkage fee of $10 if you bring the bottle of wine to the dining room.  If you drink it in your room, of course there is no charge.

Hello. Monte and Shelley will be there! First time cruisers!!!! Woooooo Hoooooo

Hi, Monte and Shelley.  Where are you from?  We are from Tucson.  This will be our sixth trip.  You will enjoy the cruise.  There is a large group of Veteran's and Single Groups on this cruise.  If you check out cruisecritic.com, and register to login you will see a Carnival Cruise Roll Call.  Click on Valor and then you will see a 11/08/09 started by PatientOne.  Everyone has been responding on that site.  We are flying out on Saturday the night before.  We are flying into Ft. Lauderdale and then staying in downtown Miami.

We are also going on a cruise in less than a week out of Long Beach on Carnival Paradise.

Have fun on your first cruise.

    Donna
